UST – first military training service in the Philippines
Polo y servicios – males are required to give service to the government as a construction worker for 40days in a yr.
Falla- payment given to the government instead of giving services

22-31 yrs old – inclusive 1st reserve
32-41 yrs old- 2nd reserve

1942 – WW2 (ROTC) – called to render service (Japanese occupation)

P.D. No. 1706- compulsory National Service for Filipino citizens
Prime duty – protect the people (gov’t)
Duty- defend the state (people)
CMT- citizen military training replaced rotc
Rotc- 350 cadets
R.A. no. 7077 – Philippine reservist provided for the org, admin, training, maintenance, and utilization of citizen armed force
