Warning: A student who registers for an external exam (e.g. SAT or TOEFL) without taking prior approval from the school may end up taking a penalty if he misses a school exam or a school day just before a school exam.
1. What work student going to Gr 12 in Sep can do
Students (1) study this sheet, (2) prepare for university admission and (3) study:
a) Buy an SAT 1 book and study it: The SAT 1 has three parts, each with a maximum mark of 800: English critical thinking, English writing and math. Every American university wants students who have passed SAT 1 with high scores. Students should aim for a minimum of a combined score of 1,800/2,400. Students can buy an SAT 1 book from any bookshop (College Board SAT1; The Princeton Review SAT1 or the Barron’s guide to SAT 1). The exam can repeated and the highest grades count.
b) Buy the Gr 12 University Physics, University chemistry, AP economics or AP biology books: The more you study of these books the better you will perform in Gr 12. If you cannot find new books in the bookshop try to buy a used book from a student in Gr 12.
c) Buy AP European History, Human Geography, Psychology and study over summer. AP courses are first-year American university courses. Our school is a center for the AP exams that are given every May. Passing AP exams gives you credit and American and Canadian university, and may get you into second year American or Canadian university. Three P passes also get you into first year British universities (saving a year). For more information contact your AQC.

2.1. In Gr 12 minimum of three courses for A-levels
In Grade 12 you may take as few as three courses so you pass three A-level or AP exams in Grades 12 and 13, then apply to British universities.
