Find a journal article online about just-in-time inventory systems. In the subject line of your post, include the title of the article that you read. Post a link to that article with your initial post, and provide a summary and a reaction to the article. The summary should be approximately 250 words, and the reaction should be approximately 150 words. The summary should describe the major points of the article, and the reaction should demonstrate your interpretation of the article and how you can apply that knowledge. Do not choose an article that one of your classmates has already posted on. To participate in follow-up discussion, choose one of the articles that your classmates have posted, and provide your own reaction to it. Your follow-up post should be approximately 250-500 words, and cite at least one reference used in preparing your response. All posts should be grammatically correct and proofread for spelling.

This article describes in detail the following items. It defines just in time manufacturing, provides concepts of just in time manufacturing, benefits and advantages, limitations and disadvantages and finally a list of several companies that use just in time manufacturing. The article describes just in time manufacturing in this way. “Just In Time (JIT) is a production and inventory control system in which materials are purchased and units are produced only as needed to meet actual customer demand.” (Accounting For Management) The article goes on to provide concepts of just in time manufacturing. Some of those concepts are as follows. “Under ideal conditions a company operating at JIT manufacturing system would purchase only enough materials each day to meet that days needs. Moreover, the company would have no goods still in process at the end of the day, and all goods completed during the day would have been shipped immediately to customers.
