I Believe That Every Thing Happens for a Reason
I Believe…

I believe that everything in our life happens for a reason. It takes a lot of people a very long time to be able to grasp this concept, but God has a plan for each of us, and everything that goes on throughout our life comes together to complete that plan.
Although some might say that expression “everything happens for a reason” is a bit cliché, I believe, in a sense, it is true. I used to even get mad and think it was annoying whenever people told me this, because I didn’t like it when people were optimistic about things. But now I have learned that it is true. I can’t really explain how I came to realize, because I don’t really know. I guess it was just through my parents and through me becoming more mature and understanding as I grew older. I have learned through my own experiences and struggles of accepting things that happen in my life that I didn’t expect. In my opinion, there is no such thing as luck. Everything that God does has its own special purpose in each of our lives.
Acceptance is a very difficult concept to gain. For people who have lost a loved one or had something tragic happen to them, they don’t want to go around saying that there is a good reason that happened, because it doesn’t make sense to them. They don’t understand how something good could come out of all of their trouble and heartache. But God doesn’t make mistakes. Maybe this struggle will help them to understand their purpose in life; something that they never would have realized any other way. He knows what is right for you, even if you don’t think its right for you at the time.
Through our experiences and the things that we think go wrong in our life, God reveals things to us. He shows us our weaknesses and the things we need to work out in our lives. Sometimes, God puts us in these situations to bring us closer to Him; so when things don’t go the way we planned, even if we are upset at first, we will run to Him for comfort and strength to get us through it. A lot

Luck has always been a word that can stir up a debate on whether or not it exists. Some people believe luck exists and there’s nothing you can do to change your failure or success. Yet there are others that believe the actions you partake in to reach many opportunities will determine success or failure. Personally I agree with the following notion by Oprah Winfrey that says “luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity.” My reasons for agreeing are because the actions you take will always determine your outcome and preparation is a great factor when faced with any and all opportunities.…

We all have had moments of tragedy and despair. It is in our darkest hour that many of us pray to God for comfort, I believe he answers our prayers when we are ready. We need to understand that asking God for material things will probably be ignored, that the greatest gifts we receive from God come from what we live and learn. For instance, my life was very difficult in many ways. I came from a home plagued by mental disease and addiction, it was a very lonely existence and I had often prayed for peace and to be loved unconditionally by another person. It did not seem like too much to want from life, however inside me grew resentment and anger. I was not ready to be loved or for a peaceful existence because I had not even loved myself. Over twenty years I lived my life angry at God for not giving me what seemed basic for most people and it consumed me to the point of near death. I saw what I had become, but now I had a child and I did not want her to feel the pain that I felt. If I did not change, it would just be repeating the vicious cycle. A very life altering decision was made and I began to heal from my past, but I still had a long journey ahead. I still felt lost and needed someone to understand. Finally I begged God to show me…

Sometimes we think that our plans must lead down a better road, or that God must not love us enough to protect us from this pain we feel, but God actually uses the painful experiences to further develop our character. Vivian Thomas could have given up when it became too discouraging, but instead he persevered and became an inspiration to many people. People say that there is a reason for everything, but to me there was no reason for my parents to get divorced. I knew they would never make up and get back together, whether I wanted it or not. “I find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe.” Words Elie Wiesel should have followed. He didn’t completely give up, but at the same time, it’s almost as if he did. He should have known that these things were happening for a reason, and with that reason god was slowly but surely going to make everything in the end all work out. Probably not in his upmost favor, but things would have worked out one way or the…

The Bible says “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God” also, God reveals that suffering carries with it a noble purpose: It should help us to grow in brotherly love, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians6:2) I think that when we support each other through suffering we form closer relationships. I believe that suffering is a part of life that needs to be embraced and that for me, I find comfort in knowing God allows suffering to serve a divine purpose. When we return to God it will bring an end to sadness and suffering. I suffer every day with anxiety. It makes me a better person because I know what it’s like to suffer, and because I suffer, I am a more compassionate person to others. I go out of my way to try to lift others in spirit because I know what it feels like to be down. I try to be a wonderful friend because I know how shortcoming in friends can be a letdown, and how having a good friend has kept me safe on bad days. I think sometimes when people don’t suffer they become self-centered and think they are above others. I think it is often when we suffer that we are drawn closer to our families and given a reality check. Suffering helps us to fulfill our potential as children of God (1John…

    Suffering in the Bible

To some, the reason why we suffer is a mystery but God makes it clear through His Word why we may suffer. First and foremost we suffer because we live in a fallen world where sin is in the hearts of everyone. Sometimes we suffer because of our own foolishness. We reap what we sow (Gal. 6:7-9). God brings justice to the evil and righteous alike. We also suffer because it is God’s discipline. “The Lord trains those he loves. He punishes everyone he accepts as a son” (Hebrews12:16). We may suffer persecution because of our faith especially when we take a stand on biblical issues. We suffer for righteousness sake (2 Tim. 3:12). Jesus said that the world hated Him and if it hated Him, it will hate all Christians as well. Suffering for our faith actually broadens our…
