Why I Want To Be Confirmed?
I want to be Confirmed because it’s a way for me to feel closer to God and the church. Confirmation to me means accepting your responsibility for your faith and destiny, and becoming closer with God. I have done many things this year to start preparing for Confirmation. For example I have been going to church more often, praying every night, before I eat and before I go to bed. I have done some services for St. John the Baptism, for example I attended the picnic, I will also be attending at the fish fry this Friday. I know I haven't done a lot of services for this church but I have done more services in different other places. Doing services it has impacted me because I like to do good for whoever needs me, it has s also helped me realize

Although I am a devoted and faithful Catholic as of now, I think that there is always room for improvement. I now know better than to ever put mine or someone else’s thoughts and opinions over the my decision to follow the path that God has set out for me in life. Also, through these words that Mark wrote, I am once again assured that I should never be ashamed or embarrassed of anything that my faith entails, or anything that my faith may influence me to do or say. As long as I have complete faith and trust in God and all that he is capable of, I know that I will live a happy…

Why did I get baptized? The answer to that was simple; everyone else in my family were already Christian so I might as well follow their lead. I lived for six years after that not knowing the true meaning behind being a Christian. I was constantly angry and hurt and heart-broken and filled with lust and the list goes on... and on… I was poor but God provided; I was weak but God made me strong; I was broken but God mended my broken pieces, and through all this, I knew it had to be God because I could not make it through those rough,…

Finally, the day to be confirmed is here. The arrival at the Church makes a feeling oh-so holy. Every family member comes and compliments the fancy appearance of one’s outfit. There is a short walk inside to see peers taking part in the lifelong journey of Confirmation. In my service to God I am motivated to use the life God has given me to do something meaningful and purposeful, not to just take the easy way out and coast to through life barely getting by. Over time my service to God has increased enormously, my commitment went from just going to be there to looking forward to it and leading the charge at some points. I became more involved in church activities, going on mission trips or volunteering with Vacation Bible School for grades pre-kindergarten to sixth grade. It became more interesting and strengthened my ethics as I was able to understand it as I got older. I learned discipline and dedication to faith and my congregation. These beliefs help me get through the harder times in my life.…

I always loved school, and I was a fast learner. I was praised for my accomplishments at an early age and I believe that the satisfaction I gained from impressing others was motivation that impacted my future. I continued to do the best I could in school. My mother was very strict and tough on me when reviewing my work, ripping my essays if I wrote in sloppy handwriting and erasing all of my math problems if I got more than one wrong. It was emotionally difficult but I eventually toughened up, and her training made me a more diligent student. The only motivation I would have was the praise I would receive for amazing scores on my work. Eventually, I stopped being praised and it was devastating for me. I entered middle school and I continued…

As we look at convictions in our lives it is important for us to discern where those convictions are rooted and based. Not all convictions are always rooted in God. Some convictions are little more than superstitions which are based on a notion or illusion. There is a distinct difference between feelings and conviction.... Feelings are defined as, "an awareness of something; a notion or belief not based on reason; emotions rather than intellect." We need to be sure that we are grounded in what God tells us. There are many voices that we hear; of these we have the voice of self, the voice of the world, and the voice of God. We should be able to determine whether the convictions we hold true to us and follow are from God or another voice. This only becomes possible by knowing God’s voice from the other voices we hear on a regular basis. The bible tells us “The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.” (John 10:27 Amplified Bible) I cannot personally recall a time when I held convictions that were not in line with God’s word but there have been times in my life…

Before being baptized I had to memorize some answers that I had to say in front of the whole congregation. I was to begin sacrificing ten percent of my income towards the church for gods work. Reading was constantly assigned and I met up with the youth pastor on a weekly basis to make sure I was growing in my faith. People were set in place to keep me accountable for my actions. I was to also seek out someone at this time that could mentor me. Through mentorship I was going to be able to learn the sacra so to speak. Before I was to be baptized I was brought before the whole…

I believe that I am choosing and also not choosing to be confirmed for a few reasons. I am choosing to be confirmed because that is the next step I can take to be closer to God. Being confirmed seems like the last step anyone can take to have a closer to God. Also, that can be the same way in reverse on the other end. God would like to be closer to us, so through confirmation, God can be closer to us. Also, God can be guiding us through confirmation to have a stronger connection. I want to be confirmed and so does God, and that is a great gateway to a stronger connection.…

My journey to my personal salvation and acceptance of Christ as my Lord and savior actually is an interesting story in itself. I was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Baptist Church at the young age of five. I was living in Meridian, Mississippi at the time due to my father being involved in the US Navy and always moving from one base to another. For the next six years of my life, I was truly devoted to the Church and attended every service, event or function that was hosted by the Church. I was eleven years old and back home in my hometown of Detroit, Michigan when my salvation had taken a detour per say.…

Here are a few reasons on why I believe that I should be promoted to PFC. First, I’m ready to further my career as an enlisted soldier. Being the best I can be is all I’ve ever wanted and I’m ready to take the next step in the army with being promoted to PFC. Secondly, I’m ready to take on more responsibility as that shows that I’m becoming a better soldier and beginning to make progress on becoming a leader because with more rank comes more responsibility.…

The choice is simple and the choice is yours. Stop worrying about what people think of you and what they are doing, be your own person, a leader not a follower. Don’t be deceived by the ways of this world and buy into the lies that people say to get you to either get you off of your walk with Christ or stop you from beginning a relationship with the Lord all together. For example, some of those lies are “being a Christian is too hard” or “I can’t be saved and have fun.” Not true. Saying yes to the Lord is one of the greatest decisions one can make in their life. when you say yes to the Lord’s will there will be all kinds of attacks that will come to get you to rethink that new found decision and yes it can be challenging, but so are a lot of other circumstances we face in life. Deciding to get a college degree is challenging, starting your own business is challenging, learning to fly a plane is challenging, but you fight and work hard for that dream to become reality. So why is it so hard for people to fight and press on when it comes to the things of God? The same way you apply yourself to accomplish your goals you can apply that same faith and…
