Takupa Case Study
a) Takupa is small island with a population of 150,000 people and one-third (N = 50000) are between 18 and 30 years of age. The island is well-connected with broadband internet connection. I have been given the task to find out about internet usage among 18 to 30 year old Takupans. Due to time and financial constraints, I will only able to access to only 1% (n=500) of the population. Internet usage refers to the time spent of on the internet.
Based on the above situations, I will select the sample by using cluster sampling and then follow by Stratified sampling. Each of the sampling is followed by Random sampling. 2. Age group
I would include this variable to answer my third question: Is there a difference in level of Internet usage among young adult in Takupa according to age?
3. Occupation
I would include this demographic variable because some individual may has high use of internet usage because of their occupation.
4. Relationship status
Relationship status was included as I think it may influence an individual internet usage. It can be used to support in answering research question 4: What are the purposes of Internet usage among young adult in Takupa?
5. Education level
