Looking closer into the background there are soldiers and regular looking people in the back with one typical guy with higher class people in the foreground. It like a unanimity between social class to enjoy a sunny day on a island. Looking closely into the painting there are tiny strokes of lines creating leaves on the ground and on the tree, but also everywhere creating texture. The overlapping creates space and every person are very different from each other creating variety. The artwork use a medium of an oil on canvas, The unity is created by less emphasis on the people's clothing or class but on common everyday people.
