Stay in School, Persuasive Essay
To make good money as an adult, you must have a good job. To have a good job, you must get a good education and go to college. To go to college, you have to go to high school and elementary school. If you drop out or don’t go to school at all, you’ll go nowhere. Life today, money is everything, and I think that the foundation of getting a good job is the education you get in the first 20-25 years of your life. School does not only teach subjects like English, Math, History, or Science, but it also lets us meet new people and build good character. Stay in school, because it will help you meet new people, build good character, and will also get you to a job that you will love. A lot of jobs in today’s society require you to talk to and meet new people. For example, if you are a teacher, you need to learn how to talk clearly to a classroom full of students. Starting at a young age of about 7 or 8 years old to talk to other pupils in your class will help you build confidence to speak up later in life. Another example would be a business networker. Business networkers have to talk to a lot of people in order to be successful in their job or jobs. Going to college is where you usually meet a lot of new people. It’s a good place to practice socializing and going up to people you don’t know and get to know them. It is still possible to this without an education, but since you do need a degree to find a good job that you enjoy, you should just go through the process of college education and at the same time, meet new people. Building good character is important during your junior high and high school years because that’s what employers look for when hiring people. For example, if you want to look for a part time job during college, you usually have to go through an interview. A couple things that employers look for is if you are responsible and trustworthy. Aspects of responsibility that you naturally do in elementary, middle school, and high school are:

Clarissa Harlowe "Clara" Barton was a pioneer nurse who founded the American Red Cross. In addition to being a hospital nurse, she worked as a teacher, patent clerk, and humanitarian. At a time when relatively few women worked outside the home, Barton built a career helping others. She was never married, as she knew the restrictions of a married woman at the time, but had a relationship with John J. Elwell. During the end of the American Civil War, Barton worked at a hospital she made helping the people at the Andersonville prison camp where 13,000 people died.…

The question everyone's asking it should we have year round school? Well, I'm here to answer that question with a little help from Brigid Schulte on the Washington post. We should not have year round school because it can cut into family activities. Here is some thoughts from the Washington post. Still, when Mount Vernon Community School first considered the idea of going to a modified calendar a few years ago, it was a battle royale. Some middle-class parents argued that it was important for children to lie on their backs and watch the clouds for hours over a long summer break. This post is by Brigid Schulte and posted on 2009/06/05. This is why Michigan schools should not go to a year round calendar because it…

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, send the homeless tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” Reference? America has long been the land of freedom and hope to the world, and the American military is what has kept her that way. People have forgotten how important and valuable the military is to the world that we live in. As part of the Budget Control Act of 2011, automatic sequestration calls for $1.2 trillion in lowered federal spending, with 50% coming from defense and 50% coming from non-defense budgets. If Congress cannot reach an agreement, these cuts will reduce the Department of Defense spending by about $55 billion dollars. On September 11, 2001, the United States faced a difficult time in which 3,000 lives were lost due to an attack upon the U.S. by terrorists who hijacked airplanes and crashed them into the Twin Towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the United States Pennsylvania! That day, 9/11, has become a day in which we remember the lives that were lost and the families who were affected by such a tragedy. We called on our military once again, and they were there to protect our country. I am against automatic sequestration towards the military and military programs for many reasons.…

For this debate I am debating why school time should stay the same. J.C.M.S middle school in Sierra Vista has a delayed start time of 9:00 a.m., and finish school at 4:00 p.m. This affects the children who are involved if afternoon sports, most time not getting out until 6:00 p.m sometimes later. If you have homework that same night after spending two hours doing a sport you might procrastinate and not do your homework at all or you will be tired and end up making mistakes that should not have been made. An earlier start time ensures an earlier release time letting sports start earlier and homework being done at an earlier time while not as exhausted from the day.…

1930s- In the 1930s money was scarce because of the depression. People tried what they could too to keep themselves happy. They would watch movies, play games, and such. In the great depression the American dream had become a nightmare. The great place that was once called the land of opportunity was now known as the land of desperation. The best place for a better life was California.…

Students theses day have a lot going on in their lives. From sport to other extracurricular and also homework. When is it time to get a good night rest? Most student have to stay up late to do homework and sometimes don’t get to bed until one in the morning and have to get up around six for school. Some schools in the Pilot Grove area like Columbia school district have decided to change their school days to 9:10 AM to 4:30 PM days. One of the problems that I think our school of Pilot Grove has it starts too early in the day. Which leads kids to not getting enough sleep and which could also lead to more severe cases like health problems, school performances, and the students psychological state.…

One’s introduction to high school is the foundation for higher level education and work until retirement. If the foundation is not set right, it can cause everything else to collapse. In an effort to regulate this and to help everyone succeed, schools throughout the nation are restructuring their education system by putting incoming freshmen in a separate setting from the rest of the community. While this seems like a good idea, it has some serious faults. In order to help the incoming high schoolers succeed, they need to get exposure to the setting…

Online, physically, or verbally you can be a victim of being bullied. You don’t have to keep things as they are. The question is how to handle the situation (Do you attack the bully and become the bully yourself? Or do you ignore the bully and pretend all is well?) What you do is speak up and ask for help. I would know, because not only was I a victim, I was also a person who stood by and simply watched it happen.…

"It's not just a game," to many athletes this statement rings true. Sports fuel the drive and determination within people, and provide them an essential learning tool from which they can grow. Competitive is defined as, "of or relating to a situation in which people or groups are trying to win a contest or be more successful than other : relating to or involving competition ."(merriam-webster.com) This concept of competitiveness is the foundation of all sports. The competitive spirit and thirst to want to better oneself in order to be at the top is a fueling force that will propel our children far beyond their years on the court. Providing children with equal playing time in youth sports discourages the necessary need for healthy competition and takes away valuable life lessons that will prepare them for the future.…

“In the United States today, there is no more certain investment than a college education”(Carnevale and Melton). Education has always been a major component of American society. One can only go so far without an education, and the more education and knowledge someone has, the better their chances of being successful. Some people believe a high school education is enough, and it is, enough to land a job at a fast food restaurant. I speculate they feel this way because they feel school is not for them, or maybe they just do not want to go far in life. To get far in life people must go above and beyond, and learn things that others do not know to make them stand out in job interviews. College helps develop skills that are necessary for life, and gives them an education that will enhance their future; and despite its few drawbacks, college is worth it.…

Due to the financial crisis there have been many changes made to government programs to reduce costs and help with debt. Many of these cuts are happening statewide, in America’s public schools. The first programs that are being cut are the art programs, and the excuse is that the core classes are more important. The argument is that children need to be more focused on test scores in Math, Science, English and History. It is unfair to single out art classes, there should be a more even spread of budget cuts, not just the sole elimination of the arts. There are parents who are indifferent with the arts and they are unfazed by their removal from elementary public schools. What many of these parents do not recognize is that there are actually benefits of the arts that help with core subjects. Some benefits are strengthening problem solving skills, stimulating critical thinking and helping developmental growth. There is also a duel component that shows that there is a direct correlation between SAT test scores and art programs in schools, as well as higher participation and attendance. It has also been shown that the arts can help boost the economy.…
