Sef Gonzales
Sef Gonzales, aged 20, was convicted and sentenced in the Supreme Court of New South Wales to life imprisonment for the murder of his father Teddy Gonzales, 46, mother Mary Loiva Josephine, 43, and sister Clodine, 18. On July 10th 2001, at about 4.30pm Gonzales entered his sister Clodine’s bedroom, where she was studying. He was armed with a baseball bat and two large knives he had retrieved from the kitchen. It was found that he compressed Clodine’s neck trying to strangle her, struck her at least six separate blows to the head with the bat and stabbed her many times, inflicting five major stab wounds to her neck and two major stab wounds to her abdomen.
Mary Loiva arrived home at about 5.30pm. Immediately upon her arrival, Sef attacked her in the living room with one of the kitchen knives. Gonzales inflicted multiple stab wounds and cuts to her face, neck, chest and abdomen. Her windpipe was completely transected in the attack.
Teddy returned home just before 7pm and shortly upon entering the house, Sef attacked him inflicting multiple stab wounds to his neck, chest, back and abdomen. One of the stab wounds penetrated his right lung, another pierced his heart and another partially severed his spinal cord.
All three, were attacked with much more force than was necessary to kill them. "This was not a professional killing" the court heard. "This was a slaughter by an angry amateur who wanted to make absolutely sure they were dead but had no idea how many times he would need to stab them in order to cause death."
After killing his family, Gonzales disposed of the weapons as well as the shoes and blood stained clothing he had been wearing at the time of committing the murders. These have never been discovered by police. At some time in the evening, he also spray painted the words “F--k off Asians KKK” on a wall in the house in an attempt to fool investigating police into believing that his family had been the victims of a hate crime.
Soon after, Gonzales drove

The Execution of Wanda Jean is a compelling documentary based on a convicted murderess name Wanda Jean Allen who was sentenced to death in 1989 after shooting her lover Gloria Leathers, whom she met in prison while serving for time in prison for another killing. This documentary shows how the state of Oklahoma continues to execute Wanda Jean to the death penalty in which she had a low IQ, bordering on mental retardation. With the help of family, friends and her legal team, Wanda files for clemency but the Clemency Board denies her plea. Although Oklahoma’s decision may seem to be cruel, I think there are many factors in which why she should of received the death penalty.…

    Omar Rodriguez-Lopez

When I say Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, what comes to mind? To most of you new age listeners, absolutely nothing, just Spanish guy name, but to all of you in touch musical geniuses, only one word clouds your brain. Volta. The mars Volta is an Avant garde progressive rock group, who at times may not make sense with words, but completely and utterly make up for it with insane riffs, original scales and crazy drum segments. Omar is the guitarist and founder of the mars Volta; he is also the main song writer. Omar has incorporated guitar into his world and career ever since he was twelve year old, starting off with a bass. When he turned fifteen, he claimed he “needed more strings” and switched to a guitar, this decision changed his life forever. Omar was born on September first 1975 in Puerto Rico, although he grew up in El Paso Texas, and spent much time in South California. He attended high school in El Paso at Coronado where he met his future band mates. In my eyes, Omar is a musical genius; I mean have you ever listened to l’via l’viaquez? Boom, starts off straight with pure riff, of course the Spanish lyrics add to the awesomeness of it, but this guy is a genius. His music never gets boring, ten minute long songs, anthems if you will, they’re long, but not too long, never repeat a scale or rhythm, but you can still hum the chorus, perfect? I think so. Once Omar realized he was an artist, he did more than just play in a band and write music, he decided to write films, including music for the soundtracks. His first film was called the sentimental engine slayer, which was played in numerous theatres, he was good at this indeed, but his true calling obviously lies in the world of fret boards and fender amps. Omar is actually a big fan of Ibanez guitars, his first two were custom, then Ibanez decided to make him his own, which is available for purchase. Omar lives a low radar life, and loves it. He is…

It is with these kinds of controversial stories that we come to doubt on whether the death penalty should still be kept in place or be abolished. Capital punishment is a highly debated topic all around the world, having opinions surrounded by ethical and moral reasoning. As a fact, capital punishment does not deter crime rates but rather increases it. Furthermore, the death sentence goes against the Fundamental Human Rights and spending life in jail, into an environment of rape, violence and terror is a greater punishment than the easy way out perception of ‘’and eye for an eye’’. The actual process of death row is way more expensive than life imprisonment without parole. It is with these stated facts and ideas that I believe that the capital punishment should be abolished. As a matter of fact, the capital punishment does not deter the crime which has no beneficial effect on murder or…
