The purpose of this essay is to reflect upon an aspect on my role and responsabilities as a teacher in lifelong learning ,responsability for maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment (PTLLS 6302/L&D Academy /Barchester/page 4 }For the purpose of reflection the essay shall be written in the first person.I decided to use John’s( 1995) model of reflection . I participated to PTLLS course unit 001 in September 2013. I was waiting for this course for a few months as the previous course was cancelled. I was excited and looking forward to learn new skills and to improve practice in my new job as a Home Trainer. Unfortunatelly,during my journey on the train I seemed to have contacted a viral infection that heavilly affected my capacity to learn.It was my willingness and great desire and also the support received that helped me to learn and activelly participate in the course sessions. What was i trying to achieve and what are the consequences

As I believe that there is always room for improvement, and i just started a new role ,I felt that i need to learn more in order to be able to fulfill my new role and to gain confidence as a trainer from enhancing my knowledge .I feel a lot more confident now after the first three days course.I realize how important is the teacher approach towards the learners, how different the learners are and how different they learn.We discussed about the current teaching practice against theoretical models of teaching and learning .I was able to identify during discussions why a teacher finds easy to teach his or her favourite style when feeling uncomfortable as I felt the same during my first training sessions.
