Persuasive Speech About Hunting
Let me ask you, what do you strive for, what do you work for every season, what drives you? Sometimes the answers to these questions get lost within our selves when you’re spending countless hours scouting, placing cameras, trying to find where your next kill will be. Hunting is becoming more of a sport for some, it is extremely competitive and I don't want people to lose sight of what is really important.

Do not give up on what you are working toward, it is ok to shoot the big 10 pointer or the double banded canvasback. It is your trophy, but remember that hunting is more than that. We are a rare breed from God, he gave us the soul to have the will power to provide for ourselves to strive, and not be afraid to kill our prey.

The extensive preparation required to be a successful bow hunter is indeed an adequate challenge. Unlike hunting with a firearm, someone cannot walk blindly into a deer stand and stand a chance at harvesting a deer. One must prepare. The preparation should begin with finding a bow that “fits” the hunter, one they are comfortable with. Things must be adjusted to suit the one who will be hunting with it. Things like the draw weight which is the amount of weight require to pull the bow to “full draw” so it can be shot. After this, the hunter should practice shooting this bow to develop proper form and muscle memory well before season. Not only must this be mastered, but the hunter has to be comfortable shooting from different positions such as sitting down or standing up. But Wait! It gets better! One must know which positions are acceptable for the deer to be in for an ethical shot to be taken. For example, if a…

I believe that fox-hunting is a cruel and barbaric sport that should be made illegal. It is uncivilised since animals get killed for pleasure. It is inhumane since they are not going to be eaten and are going to suffer terribly when they are killed.…

“ 61 people have been killed by black bears while hundreds of black bears have been killed by hunters in New Jersey” Does the bear hunt really matter that much? The bear hunt isn’t necessary, and some people may not believe this but it doesn’t change anything. The bears will just keep on growing so why should we murder them for no reason while there are other ways to prevent them from hurting our people. Hunting black bears is a horrendous sport which lets hunters get lots of money for doing something wrong. When has murdering and torturing animals become a sport? What have the bears ever done to us or the hunters? They kill people because they are terrified of us. It is not their fault. When people are terrified they do the same thing. We should end the bear hunt because when we hurt bears that is…

What was once an immutable survival skill slowly became a mere pastime and has recently shown to develop into a large industry. Trophy hunting has been a most favored form of recreation (mostly for affluent people), but is has also been the most disparaged on the long list of contentious issues. For one thing, it is detrimental to wildlife. According to In Defense Of Animals, and anti-hunting organization, more than two-hundred million defenseless animals are expunged from the world population each year. In turn, not only is big-game hunting is not only disdaining towards animal species, it can be the cause of many ruinous events, such as hunters getting harmed. We would all be better off if trophy hunting was vetoed all together.…

They just want to showcase their skills while hunting and don’t take into consideration the impact of killing these animals, instead they seek thrill and glory. It’s disheartening to know that the thousands of animals that are being killed serve no purpose and the long life they could’ve had was taken away to simply showcase their death and impress others because of the hunter’s “achievement”. To illustrate my case, trophy hunting is similar to somebody committing homicide because they want to feel superior. Unfortunately, an animal’s life is taken lightly compared to a human’s life. Animal’s and human’s life should both be equal, but some people are only concerned with people’s life despite both of us having a purpose in the world.…

The wolf is a very important animal that should not be hunted. The wolf is a very important animal because the are so helpful and keep the herbivores from becoming too large. If there were no predators then all of the herbivores would get too large and eat all the grass, then no one would survive. Most of the wolves live in Yellowstone Wyoming. The largest wolf pack in the world is the Druid wolf pack. One of the reasons why I don't want wolves to be hunted is because in 1934 the wolves in Wisconsin almost became extinct. Wolves can help injured or diseased animals. Wolves even help the ecosystem…

If you are a hunter, you are bad. If you hunt, you don’t respect animals. Hunters are cruel to nature. These are all myths that society thinks about hunting. The truth about hunters is that they have major respect for following permits and using their firearms or bows by being educated. Hunting is defined as a sport for people to feed themselves or family by taking an animal’s life. Hunting should be respected because it involves skill, an appreciation for animals, and it helps regulate balance in the ecosystem.…

    The Great Outdoors

Not only is hunting an exhilarating experience but so is the feeling of being surrounded by wilderness. During winter times since I was 12 years old, my father would take me out on long drives in the middle of winter to hunting sites just outside of Edmonton. What made the drive not seem so long was the scenic route we would always take. Every once in a while I would see little white rabbits hopping around and leaving miniature footprints all in the snow next to the road. Further down the road we would pass a fairly big hill that had two pine trees at the top of it. I always wondered how long they had been there considering the fact that they were over thirty feet high. Finally we would get to the hunting ground and make are way down to a little patch of brush where we would crouch and wait for the deer to pass by. The feeling of the cold snow crunching under my boots, the frost covered branches of the bush we were nestled under, and all the little footprints that surrounded us gave me a feeling of unity with nature. After hiding in our spots for a long while, usually until my feet and toes were completely frozen it seemed, my father would whisper “Here comes one right now”. A few moments later I’d hear a loud bang and we’d be back on the road with our trophy and bragging rights. We have carried on this tradition every…

In today’s world most hunters chase and kill animals for the fun not because they need the food to survive. They don’t care that many times they cause pain and suffering to the animals. Quick kills don’t happen very often during a hunt. Many animals need to be shot again by the hunters to die. It also often happens that when an animal is shot by a hunter it escapes. Very often the hunter will give up pursuing the animal. Than the animal most likely will have to suffer a long and painful death. For example, biologists of the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks found that 20 percent of foxes that where wounded by hunters had to be shot again. Furthermore they estimated that 3 million wounded ducks go un-retrieved every year.…

“I do hunt, and I do fish, and I don't apologize to anybody for hunting and fishing.” -Norman Schwarzkopf (Norman). Humans have been hunting for around two million years (Humans). Hunting was the key to survival for the first settlers. Without it, they would have had to discover a new source of food. Sure the settlers foraged for fruits and berries and planted crops but that was not where the majority of their food came from. Since that time, generation after generation have hunted and taught others their ways. Hunting is something that should always be around because it provides a food source for underprivileged families, generates huge amounts of money and jobs, conserve the land for animals, and also it keeps the population of animals under control.…

I’d like to begin by quoting Captain Paul Watson, “If you want to know where you would have stood on slavery before the Civil War, don't look at where you stand on slavery today. Look at where you stand on animal rights.” Throughout my presentation I ask that you keep these questions in mind: Is slavery no longer slavery when its not happening to humans? Is abuse not abuse if it isn't happening to your species? And, is murder not considered murder when its not happening to someone like you? If I ask all of you if you love animals, most of you would say yes. Yet its because of people like you that animals like pigs, cows, and chickens suffer and take knives to the neck every second of every minute of every day. Humans have victimized animals so much, that they aren't even considered victims anymore. We have turned living, feeling, breathing beings into inanimate objects such as shoes, and sandwiches. Every year on this planet 60 billion land and 90 billion marine animals are slaughtered without a second thought to feed the greed of humans. In the United States alone, there are more than 5,000 trucks carrying animals to slaughter houses where they will be hung upside down, and while fully conscience, have a bullet put between their eyes or have a knife slash their neck, all in order to feed a group of ungrateful humans who don't even need it for survival. Out of all the abused animals on this planet 98% of them are victims of the meat, egg, and dairy companies. If you consume animals, and the things that come out of animals, you are intentionally causing pain, and suffering. I find it unbelievable how a species that claims to know the difference from right…
