Trophy Hunting Persuasive Speech
Imagine your favorite animal going extinct. What if it was all because of one thing, trophy hunting. Would you still be a fan of trophy hunting? The revenue isn't used properly, rules and laws aren't followed, and endangered animals aren't protected. There are also so many more reasons, the list could go on. Trophy hunting should be banned EVERYWHERE!

To begin with, trophy hunting should not be allowed because revenue isn't always used properly. According to “Africa's Uneasy Neighbors,” “only 3% of funds go to citizens.” This means that when someone kills a lion for trophy hunting barely ANY of the money goes towards things such as, poor villages. Secondly, according to “The democratic staff if the house Natural resources committee” “We found many troubling examples of funds’ either being diverted from their purpose or not being dedicated to conservation in the first place” Trophy

According to Goodwell Nzou “They are objects of terror.” While this may be true does it really give us the right to kill them. This will ultimately mess up the food chain. Humans and animals will have to coexist in the end, either way.

Lastly, lions and all endangered animals in general should be protected. According to “Newsela” “ Lions no longer exist in 99% of their West Africa Range. The International Union for Conservation of nature added West Africa lions to the list of critically endangered animals.” Also according to “Newsela” “Both regions can lose half their numbers of the big cats in the next 20 years” This ultimately means that lions are going extinct very fast, obviously trophy hunting does not help

In conclusion, all trophy hunting should be illegal. It barely provided revenue, is making animals go extinct, and is breaking rules. Some places do not even allow trophies to be transported! Trophy hunting is very terrible, and should not be allowed anywhere in the

“Cecil the Lion Killed By American Dentist” was the headline that rekindled the controversial debate over trophy hunting. This debate is better represented by Goodwell Nzou’s article “In Zimbabwe We Don’t Cry For Lions” than in the passage by Alexis Crosswell “5 Reasons Why Trophy Hunting is Not Conservation.” Trophy hunting is the killing of animals specifically for the purpose of keeping a portion of the animal as a prize. Since the death of Cecil the Lion, the sport has come under significant fire from the media and sparked heated argument. Nzou has the stronger argument than Crosswell’s specifically because: it recognizes that humans personify deadly animals, the writer of “In Zimbabwe We Don’t Cry For Lions” has personal experience with the subject and that Goodwell Nzou explains that American priorities are more concerned with animals than starving people.…

Doctoral student in molecular and cellular biosciences at Wake Forest University and member of the African Nzou clan, Goodwell Nzou, in his opinion contribution to the New York Times, effectively claims that trophy hunting is not as bad as Americans are making it out to be. First, he supports this claim by asserting that lions are considered killers in African villages. Nzou uses cause and effect to appeal to pathos when stating, “When I was 9 years old, a solitary lion prowled villages near my home. After it killed a few chickens, some goats and finally a cow, we were warned to walk to school in groups and stop playing outside. My sisters no longer went alone to the river to collect water or wash dishes; my mother waited for my father and older brothers, armed with machetes, axes and spears, to…

Sport or trophy-hunting is defined as, “People willing to pay big money to kill animals, the thinking goes, the private sector has a strong motivation to make sure at least some of them remain alive.” The article also declared, “...as long as hunters are willing to travel to challenging and remote places, the industry provides conservation…” (Dymoke). This evidence helps prove that the government wants to capitalize the fact that they have a unique animal, however they don’t want to hunt it, and others, to extinction. Another article states, “As hard as it is to accept that killing animals can be integral to their survival, the fact remains: without trophy-hunting, many of Africa’s iconic species would be worse off,” to elaborate further, it states, “South Africa’s white rhinos numbered only 1,800 when trophy-hunting started there in 1968. Today there are almost 20,000” (Knight).…

Personally, I think that the morality of hunting depends on the situation. If the hunter is strictly doing his job of providing food for his family and community, then that is fine. However, if they are doing it for the thrill and for pleasure and they aren't even going to eat what they kill, then these people need to take a moment to step back and realize that what they are doing is in no way right and they are the people giving genuine hunters a poor…

Also, this includes tigers, elephants, rhinos, and many more. Big Game Trophy Hunting is a danger to the environment due to population. “Many of the animals are so tame that people can walk right up to them. They have no chance.” States Lena Masr. These animals have been have been raised around people knowing nothing about getting shot, so when they actually trust someone the trust gets taken away along with the animals lives. If exotic hunting were to be a thing it should at least be in Africa where the animals can run and attempt to get away from killed and/ or harmed. Lara Logan states “A Texas hunting ranch is not the same as being in a reserve in Sagal.” ”The future for Oryx’s is Africa… not Texas.” Hunters waste so much money paying to hunt animals, however if people were to hunt they should be hunting in Africa where the animals can run away rather than being trapped in a cage. If anything hunting a caged animal is pointless, “People who kill them are cowardly.” Exclaims Lena Mesri, hunting these animals or any animals in general is pointless unless it is for survival purposes or any other logical…

I am against the big game trophy hunting for many reasons supported by quotes from articles about the story, TMDG. Something so small and harmless may be thought as just a hobby, but in the end, it is a hobby that affects way more. Animals and humans can both receive harm when people hunt; especially when it involves many deaths and drastic changes in someone's life. Throughout the articles I read, I found that big game trophy hunting is quite dangerous; adding to my original thought about being against it.…

Keeping the population balanced by hunting really only counts for some animals such as deer. If we didn't hunt deer there would be too many and eventually they would starve to death. However, lion hunting is entirely different. There are only about 30,000 lions left which is means they are endangered. If a hunter kills a male lion that is a leader of the pack, the rest of the lions are open for the kill of other animals which leads to more deaths of lions, which brings the number of their population down and can eventually lead to extinction.…

Poaching is not only illegal but is cruel to animals, but is only illegal in government bought land, land owned by the government. The only reason why people started poaching is because tiger pelt and elephant tusks are good money in the BLACK MARKET. Poaching is increasing directly and helping criminal gangs become better at shootings and makes them more sophisticated. Terrorists are starting to sell ivory tusks to get more money to get more weapons and support their own terror.…

Hunting is a practice which has thrived through the centuries from the beginning of man to modern day civilizations. When the first colonists sailed to these lands and established the America that we know today, hunting was a skill they needed to master very quickly in order to survive. Since that time, hunting has sprouted a multi-billion dollar industry, fueled by millions of Americans who continue the tradition. Hunting has emerged as an outdoor sport, enjoyed by many. Like all sports, hunting has its brands, idols, and traditions. It has its rules and regulations, and penalties for not following them. Yet, unlike most other sports, hunting has a significant opposition from millions of people and groups across the nation. It’s argued that…

Anyone that pushes gun control enjoys to tell stories how hunting animals is wrong, or how easy it is to gain access to a firearm. Unfortunately those accusations are true. The black market has made it so easy to get a hold of an illegal gun, but you can also get a kidney, lung or even jewelry. I understand why there are many concerns on the safety of the public, but taking self defence weapons are not the answer. If you are for gun control then you most likely against hunting, and the trapping of animals. There are several of cases of people illegally killing animals, such as endangered species. Elephants, tigers, and rhinos are considered as trophy animals to high class hunters. Polluters will pay thousands of dollars to go after trophy animals such as the ones listed above in the previous sentence. An elephant's tusk is worth a lot of money for the tusk of the endangered species, but all of the other parts of the animals is wasted and thrown out to root. It is very hard to protect endangered species when there are people out illegally killing them out of their own habitat that they are protected in. Many companies have invested in non-profit organizations to try to keep these endangered species home and safe place protected. When you hear of somebody getting shot it is…

Hunters obey the laws enacted to protect the animals including game and non game animals. Hunters respect the animal they are hunting. It is fair chase and the animal becomes food for the Hunter and his/her family. Like it or not, we by nature are predators. AS of nowhunters, are the most efficient way to keep animal population under control. Since we have intruded into the animals area, there is less room and natural food for large populations. Larger populations means disease and hunger. Poachers kill animals illegally. They do not obey the laws. They kill for profit because some PEOPLE like to buy the tusk, furs, etc of non game and protected animals. Don't put the blame on Hunters, but the buisness owners that finance the Poachers with their illegal…
