Personal Narrative: Transcend To Legacy
Everyone experiences some type of pain. The pain can be intense, severe and moderate. To me pain is pain. It hurts. It destroys. It hinders. It is unbearable. But that is pain. You may have learned that the beginning of my pain aroused from my childhood. In the book Transcend to Legacy: Facing myself, I described the significant and various events that lead to pain throughout my current life. I learned that God was using my pains from family, relationships, jobs and everyday experiences to prepare me for the calling He had on my life. Transcend to Legacy: The Calling, walks us through the process of identifying discovering and walking in your call.

It’s been over a year since I published both books, only to learn that healing and deliverance is a process and takes time. We will be healed and delivered from situations, but don’t

I believe we can all agree that we learned something positive out every negative situation. I know this to be true. Had you not learned some lessons from the painful experiences, many of us would not be where we are today. The fact that you are a live and reading this passage let’s me know you have endured and overcome some levels of pain.
God wants the best for us, being that we are of the flesh and not always of the Spirit, we as humans bring upon ourselves situations that warrant chastisement. : Hebrews 12:6 (KJ 2000 Bible) says, “For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives”. Another word for “chasten” is “discipline.” The passage goes on to quote Proverbs 3:11-12, which says, “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Proper discipline is a proof of love.
I want to share a story about God the Shepherd and how He administers discipline to His children in order to get their attention and ensure that they remain followers of

Sometimes we think that our plans must lead down a better road, or that God must not love us enough to protect us from this pain we feel, but God actually uses the painful experiences to further develop our character. Vivian Thomas could have given up when it became too discouraging, but instead he persevered and became an inspiration to many people. During times that are hard, God teaches us more about life, ourselves, and most importantly, about Him. Sometimes it is even necessary to go through a difficult time before we are able to realize the ways in which we need to grow and…

The Hempfield Spartans 7th grade team would be ending their season 0-7 if we didn’t win today. As I was changing into my pads my friend mike walked in the room. I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

God uses suffering, failure and loss to bless the Christian: The Bible does not promise the Christian that he will have a pain-free life while on earth. This will come later in heaven. Our life here must be lived among the thorns, with sickness, disease, death and a battle with sin. We will suffer at the hands of unmerciful people who will mistreat us. But trials, suffering and sorrow can strengthen our faith, 1 Peter 1:6-9. God may teach you patience by allowing you to face adversity. Even repeated failures teach patience. Pain is sometimes the only way to humble a proud spirit and cause a person to think seriously about the direction of his…

In chapter 12, the key event to me was when Claudia and Finn talked to each other through the keys. I felt many emotions when reading their interaction one of them being happy. I felt happy when they talked to each other because it was a turning point in the story in my opinion. I also felt surprised because at first, I thought by having two keys, there would be a lock that would need both keys to hear and speak to each other. I also felt confused by the way they conversed; How could they now hear each other but not before. I think by having one key being touched, the other key can hear because on page 153 Claudia says she breathed and rubbed on the key making it warm and on page 154 Finn says when he touches the key it's warm.I like the way the author wrote the scene from both perspectives, it gave us the readers a clearer understanding of how both Finn and Claudia felt. I also like how the author described the way both keys affect each other and have a "key" connection.…

My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…

This book provides too much content for me to give a thorough review of it in just 4-5 pages. Therefore, my intention will simply be to offer four points that will be divided into two different sections. Section One will cover three areas of the book that I strongly agree with and personally identify with the most as a young preacher myself. Section Two will cover just one general area that will shed some light on how I thought the book could’ve been expressed better. It’s not so much that I disagree with any of the content, nevertheless,…

Suffering is an individual's basic affective experience of pain or distress, often as a result of one’s physical, emotional or spiritual circumstance (Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy 2006). Suffering can be classified as physical; for example pain caused by a dislocated knee, emotional; for example one’s grief over the death of a loved one, or spiritual; which is described as the state of being separated from the blissful nature of your divine self (soul). To suffer physically or emotionally is often unavoidable; however it can be argued that spiritual liberation is possible through raising our consciousness from our ordinary human consciousness to the divine consciousness (thus making us closer to God). When spiritual liberation is achieved, all…

Discipline, as a verb, is defined as training (someone) to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience. Using this definition I found two example of discipline in the bible. In the bible we can see the verb disciple being not just spoke but shown to us. In the beginning of the bible it starts out in Genesis where we can see the first example of discipline. This is just the beginning of the lessons of discipline that we are given to learn from. We can see the same verb used by God to redirect our thinking and change our mindset. God is not only is trying to correct us in our wrongs but he genuinely wants to see us grow in our relationship with him. This creates an example of positive discipline that we are a part of everyday. Another place that we can see great discipline is in the life, crucifixion and death of Jesus. In this essay I will explain to the reader how the two…
