Nicole Placek Autobiography
I am Nicole Placek, a freshman here at UNK. I was born on April 20, 1998. I am a double major, I am going into Elementary Education and Special Education. Once you get to know me, you will see the love that I have for children. From a young age my dream was to be a teacher.
I am the only daughter of my parents with a little brother who is 16 and a sophomore in High School. Family is very important to me, they always have and they always will be. I was born and raised in Alliance Nebraska. I was baptized Catholic and nothing has changed in the religion aspect of my life. Me being Catholic has always been very important to me. I go to church every Sunday; I am also very involved with the Newman Center. (The Newman Center is the Catholic church on Campus.) I went to Saint Agnes Academy a Catholic grade school and middle school in Alliance from Preschool until I graduated in eighth grade.
In fourth grade my cousin Trevor committed suicide and I got tested for Dyslexia. Although both were very hard I survived and kept moving forward. I continued working hard and proving to myself that I was going to get through anything and everything, I depended on God and he helped me succeed. My freshman year my parents separated and my heart broke. I hurt more than ever before and was asking God why he was doing this to my family and I. My brother and I went back and forth for month after months. I pretended I was alright and was continuing to be strong for my brother. A goal I have for my future husband and I is to help our children develop their God given talents to see just how much they can impact the world. I also want to go on mission trips around the world with the Catholic Church working in
