If you’re looking for a way to get rid of Monday, you should just call it Friday. He/she knows what to do because Friday is way less productive than Monday.…
Fun Gus gave his speech and won the crowd over with his promise to improve the town. While on the other hand, Moldy Mike did not bring any new ideas to the table and only bash talked about Fun Gus.…
One self-help television show that I have selected is Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil is a television show that started in 2002. For what I understand about the show, is that people go to the show to try to get an answer to their mental health and current living situation problem. People are interview by Dr. Phil regarding their personal and situations that are happening in their lives as well as the way people are living their lives which are not correctly view by the standard of society. At the end of the interview, Dr. Phil provides people with advises as to what people should do to resolve their problem. Dr. Phil is an approved psychologist, and thank to Oprah Winfrey he has been very successful as a host in television. Every time I used to watch the…
Beginning in January, I have been taking volleyball lessons. At school, there is a program called Ram Buddies that I participate in. Ram Buddies is where an eighth grade student supports another eight grade student with special needs. In the end of January, the whole eighth grade was given a course selection booklet. I started thinking about my courses for high school.…

One in every four women is sexually assaulted before they leave their campuses at the end of their college education. With this in mind, woman involved in sororities have a 74 percent higher potential to be assaulted, and men included in fraternities have a 300 percent larger possibility to commit a sexual assault (Earp). This alarming statistic should bring question to universities around the world, but the truth is that claims against sexual assault are one of the most difficult felonies to prove. Due to all the money involved in college educations, universities have turned into big corporations only concerned with how they look on paper and in return, rape and sexual assault allegations are swept under the rug. Because of this issue,…

My husband had been complaining of pain for a long time and after numerous visit to the doctor and the E.R. he was told that he had several misdiagnosis. The healthcare system ended up ultimately failing my Husband with this lethal mistake. By the time they discovered that husband actually had cancer it was too late. He had put his truth in the doctors and they had failed. When they had finally discovered his problem, he was already in the final stages and there was nothing more that could be done. He fought the great fight and held on for almost a year after given the correct diagnosis, but he lost the battle. He was loving and caring husband/father/son/brother and uncle.…
I think I’m the oddball of the family. I mean look at my cousins; two of them are invested in sports and compete at global sports tournaments, while the other cousin is the straight A, 4.0 student of the family. The adults of my family are in the fields of business, management, and labor positions. What am I interested in? Art. The “easy” subject. Most people treat art as if it were like riding a bike with training wheels on, and no possible way to fail. Word of my desire for a career in art sends adults into hysterics with questions, that can be mildly offensive, “What is your back up plan?” “How will you be able to make any money unless you get famous?” “What could you possibly do with a degree in art?” But I have always tried to be true…
Entering into a new high school can be a bit nerve racking. There will be so many cliques around campus like the nerds, jocks, and druggies. Not being able to tell which one you may fit in will make high school more intimidating then it really is. How will you know what cliques are a good idea to join? Is it possible to be stuck between two cliques? For any new high schooler finding the right group of people is all it might take to get you through the four years.…
My freshman year in high school, I decided to join Best Buddies. Best Buddies is a program where a high school student is paired with another student, who has an intellectual and developmental disability, in a one-to-one friendship. During my first year, I learned Best Buddies is not simply a club but a family. My second year of being a part of Best Buddies I began truly noticing a change in myself. Sophomore year I was paired with a girl one year younger than me named Carrie. She and I have become best friends and have now been buddies for the past three years. As I interacted with Carrie these past years, I began to realize disabilities do not hold people back, but that we hold ourselves back. Despite Carrie’s misfortune, she wears a smile…
Clara never thought today would be her last day. She thought she had all the time in the world. She never thought she would be smashed by something she loved so much...her new Christmas tree. One day, just before Christmas, Clara decided to be festive and go get a real tree to decorate. She and her sister Macy went to the tree farm and started to look for the perfect tree. All the sudden, they came around the corner and saw... the perfect tree. They slowly walked up to the tree and then started hacking down. They had almost got the tree when suddenly it fell and suffocated them in it's branches. They both died instantly and went to heaven. The journey had begun.…
I am Racheal Flannery. I’m 19 years old. I was born November 7th 1997 in Louisville, Kentucky. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. My parents are divorced, but have remarried since. My childhood was pretty hectic. In result to my parents being divorced I felt as if I was a pawn in some game. When I got older I stayed mostly with my father. He never allowed me to do much fun, so I had to make school my fun. That’s when I realized I wanted to be a teacher.…
Loved ones are the easiest people to misunderstand in the communication field. Just because loved ones swear that they are the closest in the universe, on most occasions they are the first to misinterpret what was said to them. “For many people, their communication skills with loved ones are not as strong as they think.” U.S. News & World Report (2011) Loved ones assume they always know what each other mean by what they say. A lot of people do not realize that our moods can curve our interpretations of what another is trying to communicate. Communication is the whole key to any relationship.…
After I graduated from high school May of 2010, I took some time to think about the career path that I wanted to follow. A couple months after I graduated from high school, I applied for a job at the Early Explorers Head Start in Anamoose, ND. I did not get the job that I applied for but that was okay because the next day I got a call from the School District offering me another job. They offered me the job of the assistant substitute teacher in the Early Explorers classroom. I accepted the job offer and started working in September of 2010. I loved the job so much. There was also something special in the job for me, my baby brother was also in that class. My experiences have been very rewarding so far and have inspired me to want to continue along this path and seek further knowledge in the field. It truly does mean so much to me knowing that I have helped those children learn so many new things in life that will help them with their social and cognitive development.…
