Global poverty is a daunting challenge. By making micro-loans for poor in the world, we can help them come out of poverty. While discussing about this method, I would like to remind about a very successful character, namely, Madurai ChinaPillai ,Hailing from a humble family in Madurai, ChinaPillai has been serving the society through "Kalanjiyam'', An organization that spreads awareness among illiterate and poor women on the importance of small savings and the benefits offered by banks, by way of loans. Her effort in the past twelve years have borne fruit and has resulted in the setting up of thirty Kalanjiyams in four States, which has 400 to 500 members in each ward. As a committee member of "Kalanjiyam'', China Pillai has highlighted means to attain self-sufficiency and also to educate women that they need not depend on the Government for a subsidy, and that the well being of a family, the society and consequently the nation, lies in small savings. With a motto, ``Simple living but high thinking'', she serves as a role model for illiterate women in this country, so, this method is a very successful method to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. Government can make more awareness to people about this micro-finance, micro-loans.

One of the main reasons for poverty in the life of farmers is the unpredictable climacteric change. Of course, Climatic change cannot have an immediate solution, then what about the life of farmers????? For example for growing paddy in an acre using chemical fertilizers a farmer spends about Rs. 3,000. If there are about 1,000 acres then the total cost will work out to thirty lakhs Rupees. Where does all this money go? Definitely not into the farmer’s pocket, but to the chemical manufacturing companies. Suppose if the same farmer uses organic inputs, he can grow the same crop in an acre for as less as say Rs.500. He is thus able to save Rs. 2,500 easily. Farmers can deal with organic inputs which saves a lot of money. Thus, when the investments is less, loss is also going to be very less. Thus, this method is going to ultimately improve the economic level of the world. More than that the farmer must be trained to do other alternative jobs at times of drought.
