Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Laughter is like a magic. It is far more contagious than cough or sneeze and it brings lots of benefits to our health. It gives benefits to our physical health, mental health and also to our social life. Laughter is good for our physical health. It triggers the release of endorphins, which is also known as natural painkillers. This helps to produce a general sense of well-being. Laughter also boost our immune system. It decreases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline that constrict blood vessels and suppress immune activity. A laugh is also thought of as exercise for the heart and is very often likened to “an internal jogging”. This helps to strengthen our heart and protect us against cardiovascular problems. Apart from that, laughter is also good for our mental health. It helps to alter our mood and makes us feels better and more cheerful. The good feeling that we get when we laugh will remain with us even after the laughter subsides. Laughter also put us in a positive frame of mind. Therefore, we will be able to have a more light-hearted perspective and help us to view problems as challenges. It even helps us to relax and recharge, thus reducing our stress and enable us to stay focussed. Another point on why laughter is good is because of the good impact it leaves to our social life. When we laugh, other people around us will laugh too as laughter is contagious. This helps us to elevate the mood of those around us and this possibly improve the quality of social interaction with others. Laughter also strengthen our relationships by triggering positive feeling. When we laugh with one another, a positive bond is created which acts as a strong buffer against disagreements.
