Job Hunting
Finding a job can be hard work and take lots of time and effort. You need to spend time searching for vacancies, putting your CV together, filling out application forms and preparing for interviews. Sometimes though, no matter how hard you try, you feel you're not getting anywhere.

No matter what kind of job you're looking for—a temporary summer position, a part-time job during the school year, an internship, or your first full-time position after graduation—there are several tips and tricks that can help you find your treasure—the perfect position.

Do not be afraid to ask for help - you're only human!

Do not give up - something will turn up eventually.

Write an informative CV. A resume shows potential employers what skills and experience you have, and why you'd be a valuable addition to their company. Writing a resume can seem especially challenging as a current college student or recent graduate with limited work experience.

Try to get some work experience in the field you want to work in. Employers want to see experience as well as qualifications.

Prepare neatly for your interview. Personal interviews are used by all employers and companies for selecting their staff. Interview is one of the most important step in the staff selection procedure. The job interview is a strategic conversation with a purpose. Your goal is to show the employer that you have the skills, background, and ability to do the job and that you can successfully fit into the organization and its culture. The interview is also your opportunity to gather information about the job, the organization, and future career opportunities to figure out if the position and work environment are right for you.

And I think the most important piece of advice - 'believe in yourself.'

Here are some more top tips to help you succeed in finding a job.

Don't be afraid to apply - if you don't you won't get the job!

Research the company. Don't apply for just any job, make sure it's a good fit for you.

We spent a while on researching the proper way to apply to a job; including how to fill out an application, how to do a cover letter and different interview skills. I come to find out that it is very important to know how to fill out an application the right way and know how to write up a resume because those two things can make or break your chances in getting the job. When writing your resume you want to use ¨power words¨ in order to make yourself sound more appealing. Also your formatting of the resume has a bigger impact on the job than you might think. You want to make sure your resume is only one page, filled completely but not too cluttered and is always truthful to what you are capable of doing. When filling out the application the most important thing to think about is to be honest. You do not want to imply that you can do something that you can not do. Next, to create a successful cover letter you want to make sure that your formatting is correct. Also you want to make it appoint that you are interested in the job and go into a little bit of detail on why you think you would be perfect for the job. Lastly, at the end of your cover letter you always want to ask for a interview and that you look forward to hearing from them. Once you do get the interview you want to prepare for it. You want to look presentable, like you actually want the job. Also you can simply look up…

Samuel Sidney McClure (1857-1949) created the first literary syndicate and developed "muckraking," which established him as one of America's notable editors. He was born in County Antrim, Ireland, and emigrated with his widowed mother to Indiana when he was nine years old. He grew up nearly impoverished on a farm and graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1875. He worked his way through Knox College, where he co-founded its student newspaper, and later moved to New York City. In 1884, he established the McClure Syndicate, the first U.S. newspaper syndicate,[1] which serialized books. McClure created a whole new form of writing for his journalists that we still use today. Instead of demanding that his writers give him articles for his paper immediately, he would give them all the time they needed to do extensive research on their topics.…
