Members of the society must show them support so that they will know who they can count to for that support, as an individual you sometimes need that someone who you know has your back in time of need as well as in good times. We must show support so that they feel needed and by so doing they will know that everything that they do will put the society in jeopardy. 4. School and society
In our society schools are not seen as part of the society. The society must have a holistically relationship with schools, there must be a partnership between the school and the society. As a society we must at all times have that urge of wanting to know what is happening to our youth in terms of education. By so doing we will be able to prevent problems such as dropouts among others.
It is important to take into account that not all of our youth is dropping out just for the sake of doing it, others drop out because of reasons beyond their control such as being head of families. The society must take a stand to ensure that no child in our society will be head of household; there should be measures in place to help such children so that they can progress with their

The budget cuts will allow up to 35 students per class, no summer school for elementary and middle school level and high school will only offer classes required for graduation. “By far, though, the most common reason for teens leaving school is poor performance.”(Stewart). Some students do not like school in general, or the school he or she is attending. Many are failing, getting poor grades, or he or she just cannot keep up with all their school work. Some do not get along with teachers and/or other students. Also, he or she might get married or get pregnant. And, of course, drugs or alcohol are problems that play a major role in the dropout rates. Some factors that may lead to dropouts are: “External locus of control (i.e., being in agreement with others' perceptions -- believed or actual -- of their individual ability, worth, or value), low self-esteem, at least one disability (e.g., ADHD, learning disabilities), Poor peer support, depression or other emotional problems, early sexual activity or promiscuity, substance abuse.”(Focus Adolescent Services). Whether the issues are with the…

I define a dropout as someone who leaves school without a high school diploma or GED. Education is the key to a good life. A lot of teens use the GED as an excuse to drop out. They think that the test will be easy but in reality they don’t want to take the test and they end up not doing so. Believe it or not the GED is actually hurting the education system more than helping it. It was meant to help people get a degree equivalent to a high school graduate. But real it’s just taking student away from school. One method to cope with this problem is advancing the…

There are several reasons and causes why students may drop out of school. The first cause being that many students are not school driven because they may have distractions outside of school such as financial and personal problems. I know from experience that it’s not always easy to stay focused in school if you’re stressed about wondering how you’re going to pay the bills, or if you’re in an argument with a spouse or family member. Another cause is students may drop out is if an unplanned pregnancy happens, it may not always be unplanned but if you’re trying to finish school you most likely weren’t expecting it. After being so many months into a pregnancy girls may start to feel very overwhelmed; they may get morning sickness often, it might get hard walking class to class with another human being inside of them, and once it gets closer to their due date they start to focus more on their baby and his or her needs rather than their own. Lastly, and I think this is one of the biggest causes; is students start getting into drugs. Whether it is from peer pressure or just wanting to experience it for themselves, students who continue to keep using drugs start focusing less on their school work. It usually starts with just skipping classes and then skipping a full day to then not just going to school at all anymore. It’s a shame this is how a lot of society is now days, and until students realize school is more important than anything they will continue to drop out.…

Drop-out problem is not caused by any single reason, in fact, a whole lot of different factors work behind it. These factors are also inter-related to each other and therefore one factor influences many other factors. For example, poverty has inter-linkages with many other factors that influences drop-out like quality of education, parental attitude etc. Poverty also has intra linkages with facts like direct cost, indirect cost and opportunity cost of schooling, early pressure for marriage.…
