The quantitative study approach includes gathering numerical information to explicate, calculate, and/or control of POI (Neely-Barnes & Lennon-Dearing, 2015). In other words, the quantitative method impacts the POI by providing the stakeholders with the up-to-date EBPs that offer the cause and effect correlation while presenting the significant of the problem.
Theoretical Influences
The author selected Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory as the Grand nursing theory in reference to the POI. Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory offers a framework for providing interventions that encourage individuals to formulate options in his/her care and treatment through collaboration and education (Seed & Torkelson, 2012). The ethical principles the AG-ACNP must have an understanding of are autonomy, non-maleficence, beneficence, and justice. (Beauchamp & Childress, 2001). The ethical framework that will pilot the aspiring AG-ACNP with ethical decision making would be utilitarianism.
As an AG-ACNP, implementing the theory of utilitarianism of ethics in nursing emphasis on steering judgements to deliver care that promotes positive results than negative results (Rich, 2015). For example, the AG-ACNP must prioritize each critically ill patient based on his/her illness, the utilitarian theory will assist the AG-ACNP in this situation.
