Energy Plan
Energy Resource Plan

It is important for everyone to do their part to conserve energy. Our resources, such as water, natural gas, oil, coal and the water species are limited. We have to save some for the future. Another reason is that some of these resources pollute the environment. We have to be careful since it causes damage to the environment. There are two types of energy, nonrenewable and renewable energy. Nonrenewable energy is an energy source that we use that can not be replenished in a short amount of time. An example of this energy source is coal. Renewable energy is an energy source that can be recreated in a short amount of time. Solar energy is an example of renewable energy, because I is taken from the heat rays of the sun. Each person can help conserve energy by walking, riding a bike or carpooling instead of individually driving to help control the pollution to our environment. We can recycle paper, plastic and glass. By doing this we are helping protect some of the trees that are being cut down to make paper. Plastic can be used to make other things and conserve some of the oil that is used to make them. Glass containers can be reused or recycled to make more glass containers. We also reduce consumption of energy resource by turning of lights, fans or televisions when they are not in use. By doing this we will also save money on our individual energy bills. The government could help conserve energy by providing more grants to individuals. Those grants would help reduce heating and energy efficiency by insulating homes properly, changing the lighting of the home and providing energy efficient water heaters and appliances. This can help conserve and reduce the energy consumption in their homes In conclusion, energy is a very important part of our lives and essential for our future. Changing the channel of the television is no harder than going for a walk, taking the bus, reusing or recycling plastics or glass.

From the moment we wake up in the morning until the time we go to bed each night, we all use different forms of energy to perform our daily activities. On a daily basis I use energy for transportation to commute to and from work and run errands; for cooking meals using either my gas range, microwave or charcoal grill; for heating my home in the winter and cooling my home in the summer; for daily showering, and for lighting my home in order to be comfortable and productive. Most of the resources we rely on for energy are nonrenewable and will soon be depleted.…

We as humans can do our part personally to contribute in energy conservation and helping to sustain the environment through using more energy efficient appliances which can be a bit costly at first but will save energy, the environment, and ourselves money in the long run. We as consumers can purchase compact fluorescent light bulbs that use less energy and last longer than incandescent light bulbs. And the next time you’re looking to purchase a new vehicle that is fuel efficient like a hybrid car which combines gasoline engines and electric motors. 1. CHANGE YOUR LIGHT If every household in the United State replaced one regular light bulb with one of those new compact fluorescent bulbs, the pollution reduction would be equivalent to removing one million cars from the road. Don't like the color of light? Use these bulbs for closets, laundry rooms and other places where it won't irk you as much. 2. TURN OFF COMPUTERS AT NIGHT By turning off your computer instead of leaving it in sleep mode, you can save 40 watthours per day. That adds up to 4 cents a day, or $14 per year. If you don't want to wait for your computer to start up, set it to turn on automatically a few minutes before you get to work. 3. DON'T RINSE Skip rinsing dishes before using your dishwasher and save up to 20 gallons of water each load. Plus, you're saving time and the energy used to heat the additional water. 4. DO NOT PRE-HEAT THE OVEN Unless you are making bread or pastries of some sort, don't pre-heat the oven. Just turn it on when you put the dish in. Also, when checking on your food, look through the oven window instead of opening the door. 5. RECYCLE GLASS Recycled glass reduces related air pollution by 20 percent and related water pollution by 50 percent. If it isn't recycled it can take a million years to decompose. 6. DIAPER WITH A CONSCIENCE By the time a child is toilet trained, a parent will change between 5,000 and 8,000 diapers, adding up to approximately 3.5 million tons of waste in U.S. landfills each year. Whether you choose cloth or a more environmentally-friendly disposable, you're making a choice that has a much gentler impact on our planet. 7. HANG DRY Get a clothesline or rack to dry your clothes by the air. Your wardrobe will maintain color and fit, and you'll save money. Your favorite t-shirt will last longer too. 8. GO VEGETARIAN ONCE A WEEK One less meat-based meal a week helps the planet and your diet. For example: It requires 2,500 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef. You…

We all use energy each and every day. We use energy for entertainment, cooking, transportation, lighting, heating, cooling, manufacturing, as well as many other things. According to the Webster Dictionary (2009), energy is defined as just being active. If that is truly the case, then anytime we are doing anything we are being active and using up energy. Shouldn't we try to conserve more energy if that is the case? According to the Business Dictionary (2007), energy conservation is the reduction in the consumption of natural resources by any individual, society, organization, or the economy as a whole. It is the elimination of waste being put back into the Earth and using our resources rationally. There are many ways that we can help to conserve energy thus helping the environment and helping ourselves at the same time. There are two types of energy resources: renewable resources and non-renewable resources.…

I could also save energy and money at home by making small changes around my house and help reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and also save money on my monthly energy bill. As we should know , almost half of our electricity we use goes to heating and cooling our homes. By raising your thermostat just a few degrees in the summer, and lowering it a few degrees in the winter , I would be saving money and helping the environment. Even if I replace the dirty air filter on my furnace can save 350 pounds of carbon dioxide a year. That's how I would address global warming over my lifetime.…

There are many things we can each do in our own homes to conserve energy. Some things are cheaper and easier to do than others. I advise to start with what you can and then work your way up. Some easy and far from costly things we can do in our homes are turning off devices and appliances when they are not in use, swap out appliances for more energy efficient appliances, change light bulbs to fluorescent ones, and seal spots where air can easily escape such as around doors and windows. Some other methods to conserve energy have pretty steep upfront costs but really pay off in the long run and some of these methods require community participation. One method that is pricey but does not require community participation would be to install solar paneling. This will help cut your electric bill during the day and you would only have to pay for what you use at night.…
