Safeguarding and duty of care
Keeping children safe is the most important part of my job, and everyone else who come in contact with the children. It should be my first priority in every aspect of my work and must underpin eve-rything I do at all times.

Safeguarding
Is not just about protecting children from abuse. Safeguarding children means working with the children’s family along with the children them self to make sure they are treated well and have a better future. Safeguarding involve everyone in society, as we all have a responsibility to keep chil-dren safe and protected from harm.

Duty of care
Your duty as a childcare you must make sure that the children are safe and that all confidential in-formation about any child is shared

    My goal is to prevent or reduce injuries while the children are in my care. This is important because young children are often not aware of hazards in their area. One of the ways to do this is by supervising the children at all times. You should always be able to see and hear the children. Another way I can do this is by checking the childcare environment, both inside and outside, every morning check that outlet plugs are in place, and there are no broken objects.
