To Good To Be True

Do you believe in the saying “No man is an island”? Well if you ask me, then my answer is yes. Every person here on Earth has friends, but the question is do you have best friend? Not all people are that lucky to have one because of some circumstances. Some are fortunate to found one. But what if the person who you treat as your best friend turn out to be your worst enemy? Best friend can strengthen or can weaken and break people down.

We have a new classmate when I was in sixth grade and his name is Lorenzo. He stands 5’2” with an average hair cut. He has black, big eyes and a pointed nose. He got an average body type. You can see the skin complexion of a Filipino in him. He idolizes Britney Spears and he has a good singing voice too. He has a good family back ground. If you want to have a nice buddy, you should choose him. He usually treats us in our cafeteria with some delicious macaroni with sweet juice. Everyone became his friends because of his good attitude, including me. Lorenzo got his good looking best friends named Aaron and Brian who used to be my best friends too. When we reached high school, Lorenzo and I became best friend. We went to this fine, big mall in Ermita. We always ate tasty foods in our canteen and we watched some horror movies in his big, white house. We also shared our deepest, darkest secrets to each other. He gave me a silver necklace with a cross pendant. I thought that our friendship will last but then again I was wrong. When we were in second year, I didn’t expected him to do such a thing. He spreaded false rumors about me that I endured until I graduated. Right now, I’m very thankful for what he have done to me. I am what I am now because of him. He served as an inspiration for me to be a fine, responsible man as I can be.

I know how it feels like to have buddies or companions. Just be reminded that having buddies doesn’t give you an assurance that you will have a happy life. Maybe someday someone

Friends, however have existed since the beginning of time. “No man is an island” written by John Donne states many quotes that involves a deep meaning to them. “No man is an island entire by itself; every man is a piece of the continent”. Friendships play a huge role when adversity rolls around, nobody should ever feel alone when depression strikes. That person and his or her friends should come together as one “continent” as John Donne calls it. A true friend will help, they will share their feelings, they will use encouraging words and pick their friend up and put them back on their feet. Friends are healthy, find some and keep…

“A guy goes nuts if he ain’t got nobody. Don’t make no difference who the guy is, long’s he’s with you. I tell ya,” he cried, “I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an’ he gets sick” (Steinbeck 80). It doesn’t matter who you have around with you, the only thing that matters is that you have a friend and someone to do activities with. Without friendship, people become delusional and deranged. People are always looking forward to their vacation stage. There are numerous options that a person can choose to visit. I assume that the two majority common places people desire for taking a vacation are the beaches and the mountains. Both places offer a variety of amusing activities to do. The beach offers activities that the mountain cannot offer and vice versa. The mountain and the beach are totally different in some kind of way. An apartment is a self contained housing unit that occupies only part of a building. Apartments may be owned (by an owner/occupier) or rented (by tenants). My first apartment was located in Brooklyn in the Flatbush section. It was a small but very conveniently located third floor apartment in a elevator building. The building only had five floors with a see through glass lobby entrance. The building had a doorman that worked from four until midnight. He was a very pleasant middle aged gentleman with a carribean accent. The lobby had a sunken waiting area with black leather sofa and arm chairs that looked like they were bought in the 1960`s, but well maintained. When you came into the building in the evening you could smell the strong scents of all types of seasoning especially curry due to the Indian family living near the elevator. When riding the elevator up to my apartment it would shake from side to side and occasionally would hold someone captive until the elevator repairman came to get them out. My apartment was located on the third floor. It had a small foyer with a small closet to the left, a living room that measured 11 feet by 17 feet . It also had a very small kitchen that only one person could cook in at a time otherwise you would be constantly bumping into the other cook. Next to the small kitchen was a half size bathroom whose vanity mirror would steam up due to not having any windows or a proper working ventilation duct. When you came out the bathroom to your right was a small bedroom that you could only get a minimal amount of furniture in. Basically this apartment was in the shape of a box that was sectioned off into four areas. To make it into a home I started with the living room, I painted the walls chocolate brown and bought a sofa to match. The sofa was made of a furry material so I bought an orange chaise lounge to go with the sofa. I also bought earth tone curtains to mellow out the loud look of the orange chaise. I placed the orange chaise…

“When you smoke herb, it reveals yourself to you,” is a famous quote of the pothead and marvelous musician Bob Marley. He felt as though marijuana helped tune in with your inner being. I believe cannabis that cannabis does this too and therefore have become a habitual marijuana consumer. Being in tune with ones inner being is important, yet not the reason that I smoke cannabis. The cannabis plant is beautiful, from the leaf to the buds you smoke. I love the ‘highs’ from smoking marijuana, and last but not least, I love how I can function while ‘high’. The summary is that little nuggets of joy have been crucial in making me who I am now, and I am grateful for everything marijuana has brought.…
