Of Mice And Men Essay About Friendship
“Friends encourage good habits, chase away depression, help you overcome diseases and cause satisfaction, pleasure and happiness” (The Huffington Post UK). It has been scientifically proven that you need friends in your life. Nothing can show a person’s loyalty than being the greatest friend possible. There are certain people that others need in their life to be able to live a great life. John Steinbeck, the author of, Of Mice and Men, shows that a healthy friendship is the most important commodity you can have in your life.
The two main characters in the novella, George and Lennie, are two genuinely opposed people, but however, they still love and care for one another. “‘But not us." Lennie broke in. "But not us! An' why? ‘Because... because I got you to look after me, and you got me

“A guy goes nuts if he ain’t got nobody. Don’t make no difference who the guy is, long’s he’s with you. I tell ya,” he cried, “I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an’ he gets sick” (Steinbeck 80). It doesn’t matter who you have around with you, the only thing that matters is that you have a friend and someone to do activities with. Without friendship, people become delusional and deranged. Friendships keep you healthy and sane throughout life and give you something to look forward to.
Friendship is the utmost significant gift to have in your life. John Steinbeck shows that in Of Mice and Men. Without friendship and companionship, people become destructive, lonely, and even sometimes unhinged. It is only a matter of time before you lose your mind. Friendship is one of the most important goods in life and everyone needs it to be a better person and to live a worthy life. There is nothing better than having someone to confide in and disclose your darkest secrets with. George and Lennie show that no matter how annoying or disobeying your friend is, they still love one

The friend described in Winik’s article I find most important, is buddies. Winik describes a buddy as the type of friend that keeps a person busy, entertained, and free from boredom. Buddies are the friends that can lend a listening ear in a time of distress or just call to chat up the recent town gossip. Buddies are there for us when we need a ride to the airport, help finding an outfit for a hot date, or for a much needed night out on the town. I consider buddies to be my closest friends. My buddies help me in making some of the major decisions in life such as what I want to pursue in college, what type of traits I am attracted to in the opposite sex, and what I would consider a first big purchase. Close friends are my shoulders to cry on when I lose a family member, my support when a job promotion arises, and my phone call after receiving good news. Without these friends, I don’t know where I would be.…
