The Story “The Black Ball” written by Ralph Ellison is about a man named John, born around the civil war that goes through difficulties and challenges in his life him being an African American. In the story, it seems like it’s just a straight forward story but if you take a real close look at it you can see that there is a message within the story. Through Metaphors and allegories and other literary terms like characterization, you can see the negative of how racism and discrimination affects people in a big way of there thinking. The theme of the story would have to do with Persistence and doing hard work through the tough times.…
Per our text I have pricing for the tungsten band and the white gold and an explination of the different metals. A white gold band is going to have monetary value, it is sizeable, and can be refinished in house. The white gold is rhodium plated and will fade over time to an off white tint. If purchased from House of Diamonds we will cover the rhodium plating for life which is typically a $65 - $85 fee. A tungsten band will have monetary value once you wear it, it is very scratch resisent, and comes with a lifetime sizing and finishing gaurentee from the manufactor. Tungsten is a ring we recommend for first responders, military, or constrution workers because in an emergcy it can be removed with vice grips instead of having to be cut…

Christianity was founded during the 1st century C.E, it was based upon the teachings of the Jewish prophet called Jesus Christ. He had many followers who later on wrote in his teachings in latin in a book known as The Bible, which is considered by Christian’s to be God’s word. Buddhism was founded by the thinker Siddãrtha Gautama, later on known as Buddha. His teachings were also written in Sanskrit in a book known as The Sutras. Buddha’s teachings and principles were called Dharma, he taught the people how to make their way to the Nirvana; which is similar to Christians who also believe in this way of after life but, call it Heaven. Nirvana and Heaven are the places or the state of infinity you reach after you died only if you followed your religion’s principles. For example, in Christianity you are supposed to put God in a position in your life in which he is over everything and, follow his son Jesus’ teachings.…

White horses (which are rarer than other colours of horse) have a special significance in the mythologies of cultures around the world. They are often associated with the sun chariot,[1] with warrior-heroes, with fertility (in both mare and stallion manifestations), or with an end-of-time saviour, but other interpretations exist as well. Both truly white horses and the more common grey horses, with completely white hair coats, were identified as "white" by various religious and cultural traditions.…

What happens after death has been a debated and documented topic dating back to shortly after the death of Jesus Christ. It is basically impossible to get certain evidence to back up beliefs. We are forced to rely on religious material and theologians to paint a picture for us. Even then it is hard to truly grasp what happens after death. It is proposed that you either go to heaven, or you go to hell. What do we actually know of the latter? The general consensus of society is that hell is a place full of demons and is controlled by Satan. The belief and understanding of hell has changed drastically since its first understanding. What do the Bible and theologians say about hell?…
“The Black Death was the first catastrophic outbreak from the 14th to the 18th century” (Hallen, 254). The Black Death was such a catastrophic outbreak because the black death claimed over 75 million lives. A person could not even go near the sick or touch their clothes because if they did they would catch the plague (The Black death, 1348).…
Black Blizzard is a dry tidal wave that would be 7,000 feet high and destroy everything. You and your parents would take wet towels are cram them into the bottoms of the doors and the bottoms of the windows to keep dust out. Your parents would also give you a wet towel to put over your face so you wouldn’t inhale the dust. Then you would sit in the middle of the room huddled with your family all together.…
The black and white scenes are used to tell the story of what previously happened. The black and white is used to give narrative structure amidst its confusing plot, rather than for he purpose of adding “visual richness” (however it serves to do that too)…
People wear masks to hide their true identity. This is evident in the story when the minister walks out to the congregation for the first time with the black veil on. “I can’t really feel as if good Mr. Hooper’s face was behind that piece of crepe,” said the sexton. In this section of the story, the congregation is very confused of the actions of their Reverend Mr. Hooper. He was known as the most “religious” person in the town, and now he has a black veil on that symbolises death and darkness. This theme is also evident when members of the church stated their opinion about the veil. “I don’t like it, he has changed himself into something awful, only by hiding his face,” and old women muttered.…
Hinduism and Buddhism are religions of the east. In both religions, you have to go deep inside yourself and worship inwards in order to find enlightenment. They believe that suffering is caused by attachment to materialistic things and getting caught up in the physical world. Hindus and Buddhists believe in a spiritual world after death in the physical world, to them the time is a circle, the soul keeps thriving. Hindus try and receive Moksha…
The story Black Holes and Basketball Shoes by Lori Aurelia Williams is based very closely on experiences from her child hood. The story revolves around a teenager named Malik, and his self perceived need for a new wardrobe. He just moved to Houston with his single mother and brothers and sisters, he has had a hard time fitting in even if he is a smart and nice kid. Things are different than where he came from, in Houston it's all about nice clothing and shoes, which Malik lacked. He is bullied for his wardrobe and he would do anything for a new pair of "JC Jumpers", and he almost does. Carl, an enormous yet nice ninth grader who lives next to him is in a gang called the bullets wants to help Malik get new gear, and do it by beating up a basketball player and taking his clothes. This provides Malik with a moral dilemma, take the shoes or don't, this helps him develop a strong character. The perception of Malik and Carl to the reader change greatly over the course of beginning to end.…
