They have inherited both the artistic gene from various legendary painters and the magical hands of scientists, they infuse elements of human sensibility, electron, imagination and knowledge into their creation. They work hard to educate, inspire, and entertain people in the ever faster pacing society, offering us spiritual enjoyment that expands the boundary of reality.
Among these pioneers pushing the limits of art, one man has particularly shined through my eyes, not only because his great achievement in the digital visual art frontier, not only his works that are emotionally and visually spectacular, but also his humble attitude to the fame he gained globally, his countless effort to help worldwide artists connected. His non-profit online art community, conceptart.org, has exceed tens of thousands members and is still expanding exponentially, offering isolated artists a digital home to communicate, express and promote themselves to the mass. When a work transcends into art, it surpasses its cultural restraints and touches us. We are moved; we are transported to a new place that is, nevertheless, strongly rooted in a physical experience, in our bodies. When we focus on works such as Van Gogh’s “Old Man in Sorrow” or Velazquez’s “Christ Crucified” rather than “The Scream” or “Campbell’s Soup Cans”, we become aware of a feeling that may not be unfamiliar to us but which we did not actively focus on before. Unlike popular culture, this transformative experience is what art is constantly seeking. The emotions invoked from a reading of Yeats or Frost pulls the strings of our conscience and heart and most importantly, they inspire and motivate us to change ourselves and/or the world around us. No amount of Meyer or Collins can bring forth the willingness to examine and investigate our lives or the lives of others. The felt feeling of art spurs thinking, engagement, and even action. Only art alone helps people get to know and understand something with their minds and feel it emotionally and physically. By doing this, art can mitigate the almost numbing effect created by modern pop culture and society and motivate people to start thinking and doing.…

Zawada’s is a practice that skips fluidly between object design, sculpture, video, installation, painting, 3d simulations and fashion. Finding its roots in his earlier experience in web design, coding and animation, Zawada’s mind seems to want to constantly bend and play with the sin and symbols of our real and virtual landscapes. This fascination he has with the juxtapositioning of the virtual and the lived experience plays out with ever-extraordinary attention to simplicity and perception.…

Due to the increase in the speed of the way life is conducted, the question has been proposed as to whether art will cease to exist or prevail through this era of technological dominance. Creative expression has never been an essential item in life, such as food, water, and air. Instead it originated and has remained an aspect of culture. The very fact that art has lasted century after century through various times of technological revolution demonstrates that it has the ability to persist. Whether it does or not is no fault of the technological advancement but of the individual. As Richard Restak states in his work “Attention Deficit: The Brain Syndrome of Our Era”, we now live in a “make it quick culture” (337). We now live in a…

First of all, the esotery of art must disappear; its limitation to specialists; the mysticism around it; the looking out for geniuses only. It is good to believe that in the future art may be explained in intellectual terms with greater clarity than it is possible today. Psychoanalysis already shows the mechanics of dreams, the role of the unconscious. The hope is justified that the mechanics of creative work and its sources will be unveiled one day as well. This may be the preliminary step to understanding its necessary community function and also its vital importance for the individual. He must be activized by doing instead of being merely a receptive participant. Our mass-produced civilization, the tiresome work at the conveyor belts, the cheap narcotics given in records, books, papers, magazines, cinema, radio and, of course, the disappearance of leisure killed folk art. The artist who already started to become a specialist in the craftsman-guilds of the middle ages took over every aspect of its functions. Specialization was forced upon us through hundreds of ungoverned happening and their mostly unforeseen effects; through hastened decisions in accepting and developing the machine as the only means of production; through a first unexpected but later forced gigantic growth of population, profit motives, etc., all claimed today as providential or "economic" necessities. For the time being, very few people know that the present form of specialization is a terrible weapon against us, against human nature.…

As the knowledge of humanities is an important foundation for educated citizenship in our increasingly complicated planet, the arts treated as an effective channel for communication and also a way to exhibit visions that are beyond the proportions of words and an important channel for cultural enlightenment. Mixed media art has these abilities and function a very different role than the things we consider as ‘art’. Mixed media which began in early 20th century refers to visual art projects. It is an exciting way to create artwork by utilizing a combination of traditional and contemporary media to give contemporary paintings added impact and more visual interest through the spontaneous creation. Mixed media artwork Most items are used from our everyday life, including but is not limited to, paint, papers, found objects, adhesive, old jewelry, buttons, nails, bolts, screws, photos, clays, pencils, pens, marker pens and much more. In the painting ‘Glass and Bottle of Suze’, Pablo Picasso purposely contradicts the tradition of painting by incorporating scraps of actual materials from real life into the composition. So, it helps to change the way of thinking of a person about art. Mixed media artists do not need fine art or drawing expertise. But it do not imply that a person is excluded from mixed media art if he has these abilities, but it opens up a world of creative imagination for the rest of the people who like to make things but cannot draw. These skills will broaden and develop with practice, depending on which “branch” a person follow and able to develop the ‘artist eye’ by broaden his own ingenuity. Only the imagination limits a mixed media work of art. Some mixed media artists work only with natural substances to send an earth-friendly message. Recycled materials are frequently used in mixed media art projects, allowing artists to express their creativity by repurposing everyday objects and used items. Collage art is one of the most popular…

The development of human civilization would have not been as remarkable as it is now without the advent of arts in ancient societies. Perhaps it would then suffice to say that throughout the history of mankind, it is us who created and polished arts from its most primitive form to its prominent status in today’s society. Even until now, humanity strives to challenge what has been done in this particular aspect of our society. For instance elaborate art making is now widely done, various artistic techniques were also developed, and different mediums were invented. Contrast these with the arts of pre-historic times made apparent through discovered relics such as cave paintings, stone carvings, clay sculptures, body accessories and the like, there is no doubt that arts indeed has gone a long way. Though primitive, these artistic relics are considered timeless as it allows modern day humans to have a glimpse of what it was like to be in the ancient world. Therefore arts could bring us to different realities and allow us to experience different eras as it helps preserve human milestone through time.…

Art has been created by all people at all times; it lives because it is liked and enjoyed. Art involves personal experiences of an individual accompanied by some intensity of emotion. Art is made of man, no matter how close it is to nature. Although each work of art is evidently the expression of an artists’ personal thoughts and feelings it may be inferred that, like any other individual, he belongs to a million, and he cannot free himself from the influence of his social, economic, political, cultural, geographic, scientific, and technological environment.…
