1. Describe the life of Cesar and his family. Be sure to include: ? how many there are in his family ? what each of them do for a living ? what languages they speak
Cesar and his family speak spanish, but their native language is Chichi. He has two sisters, Anna and Analina, they help in the house and in the family store. Analina is a teacher and teaches spanish. His mom works at the pharmacy, and his dad is dead. His Grandmother grows food. Cesar is still in school.

2. Why is the market so important in their city? The market makes or breaks a family. Every familys wealth depends on how well they do at the market. 3. What is the major craft of Guatemala?
Weaving cloth 4. What type of school does Cesar attend? What are the courses offered there?
He goes to a vocational school. Vocational schools teach job applications, like automotive, farming, sewing, and things like that. 5. How does Cesar generally spend his time outside of school?
He plays basketball, he sits by the river, he works on purses at his uncles, and he helps in the store. 6. What foods do he and his family eat a lot of?
Black beans and tortillas. 7. Describe what they do to prepare for Carnival in their city?
They make decorated eggs and sell them.

B. Write a short composition in English comparing and contrasting the lifestyle of people where you live and that of the people of Chichicastenango. Support your answers with facts from the video. Be sure to include: ? the climate ? electricity ? celebrations (Easter) ? goals (both personal and as a city) ? lifestyle in general

The climate is more favorable where he lives, they uses a lot less electricity while everything in my life is dependant on electricity. On easter they decorate eggs while we hide plastic ones. Goals are much of the same, moey is needed, purses need to be made,

    Suemi’s life and my life are very much different. Suemi’s has a house hold that requires allot of things to be done as in chores.
