    What Substance Will Melt Ice the Fastest Have you ever wondered which substance melt ice the fastest? My question is how does the material on ice effect the rate the ice melts? To test this I will put sand‚ sugar‚ and salt on ice in separate containers. Next I will check every hour after I put the ice in the refrigerator to watch until one container’s ice has been half melted.
