I find Peter Scazzero story funny he said that when he was growing up. He said that his Father was loyal to the church but his mom was not. My mom was loyal to the church and my father did not even go to church. Peter Scazzero went to the alter and accepted Christ when he was in college. He said that it felt like God raised his hand for him. He ran up to the alter with both hands up‚ praising God. I like that he start the book off with his testimony. It is hard to imagine the sheer amount of faith necessary for the willingness to sacrifice one’s own safety for the sake of someone else. Various Christian witnesses have demonstrated this faith all throughout the millennia‚ including – probably most obviously – St. Joan of Arc or Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. However‚ one man who perhaps best exemplifies absolute Christian faith and martyrdom in recent decades is Dietrich Bonhoeffer. His life is the story of a man who essentially sacrificed an opportunity

St. Peter is known as our very first Pope! He became one of the twelve apostles of Jesus also. To me St. Peter isn’t like all of the other saints‚ He was the very first Saint I knew and learned about when I was a little kid. I picked St. Peter because he has a couple of sayings that mean a lot to me. Like this on which is my favorite " Cast all of your anxieties upon him‚ because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7 St. Peter’s feast day is on June 29. He was born on 1b.c in Bethsaida‚ Gaulanities

One does not realize the effect and control that our leaders have upon our lives. In a sense‚ they have a profound jurisdiction on the courses of action one takes in their life and the way a person thinks about different issues based on the information those individuals are given. In Psalm 23‚ the psalmist‚ David‚ characterizes God as a shepherd who guides his people and brings them peace of mind. Even though the speaker may walk “ in the valley of the shadow of death”‚ or difficult situations ‚ he does not fear them because he knows the character of God who remains by his side and comforts him through it all. The character of God is further revealed by being described as a God who reprimands his children in love with his “rod” and guides them in righteousness with his “staff”

For one to be able to understand the Arian controversy‚ and discuss the clashing of theological‚ social‚ and what political factors contributed‚ one must first understand what the Arian controversy was. Due to early church writers such as Justin‚ Clement of Alexandria‚ and Origen‚ the church had developed certain theological perspectives on what the nature of God resembled (Gonzalez‚ The Story of Christianity 182).
