A Game of Cat and Maus Maus and Maus II are both very powerful and moving graphic novels. Both of which discuss one of the worst tragedies known to mankind. Spielgelman used the graphic novel form because it came natural to him‚ however he probably also used it as a way to get a larger audience and to make the subject matter a little less intimidating. However‚ Spielgelman’s use of animals to represent the different races helps the reader better understand the situation in a somewhat entertaining

success for countless students throughout all years of academic learning. Throughout high school‚ I did not have many problems. However‚ I had a few struggles which were the same through high school and carried through into my college career. Although I have trouble with writing‚ I try my best on every paper I write. story of MAUS is one about the Jewish struggles and loss of identities during the Holocaust. During the Second World War‚ Jews were stripped of their homes‚ businesses and identities‚ leaving them with nothing but their moral values. What happened to follow was equally as terrifying‚ for they lost everything during these years‚ and once it was over they all had to start from the ground up. Artie Spiegelman is the author of MAUS‚ and the son of Vladek Spiegelman‚ a Holocaust survivor. Artie depicts

Nature vs. Nurture by Art Spiegelman I enjoy the work of Art Spiegelman. Spiegelman uses the playful medium of comic books in order to communicate his thoughts and feeling on more serious topics. He is the only person to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for a comic book. In Nature vs. Nurture Spiegelman explores the issue of gender and how much influence a parent has‚ (nurture)‚ over what is innate with a child. In this entry I will describe this comic strip and give my opinion of what Spiegelman’s

Hitler’s Mein Kamph stands as one of the most historically destructive mediums of discourse‚ promoting the pseudo-scientific and bigoted ideologies reflective of the Nazi Party. It is then in question‚ due to recent publication controversy‚ whether Mein Kamph should be produced for public access. In a fundamental sense‚ our acceptance of the book’s republication is a question of morality and human capacity: Are we able to critically analyze and learn from Hitler’s damaging beliefs‚ or will Mein Kamph

Everyone struggles at one time or another. Some people struggle more than others. In 2011 my family lost our home and had to stay with our family members and friends. The times were hard‚ but the person I became because of this struggle knows the value of something so small. Through the hard times I found a way to get back on track. Freshman year was rocky from the start. After losing our home and moving in with family‚ we had to overcome the most difficult circumstance to date. We had no other
