The Development of Knowledge in Islam

Searching for knowledge is in line with the teaching of Islam and knowledgeable people are highly respected in Muslim community. As there are many encouragements for gaining knowledge in Islam from Quraan and Hadith that in itself illustrates the importance of it in the muslim’s current life and the hereafter. From The Quran:
Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe and those who have been granted knowledge (alMujaadilah: 11)
It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear Allah (al-Fatir: 28)
From Hadith:
Prophet said: For him who embarks on the path of seeking knowledge, Allah will ease for him the way to paradise (related by Muslim)
Prophet said: The ulama are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets do not leave an inheritance of Dirhams and Dinars, but they left only knowledge. He who acquires knowledge acquires a vast portion (related by Abu Daud and Tirmidzi)

The Islamic religion is the religion of nature as it copes with the people’s life anytime and anywhere and it embraces the new discoveries if it’s along side with the shriaah known as Ilmu al-Qias . Enough said that the first revelation to the prophit Mohamad peace be upon him was {Iqra’a}. That in it self is the major encuregmante for muslims to seek knowledge.

    Sunni, Shiite, and Sufi are three branches of Islam. The Shiite and Sunni’s were the first really major division of the Islamic religion.
