The earth’s crust is made out of plate tectonics. Each plate has a defined boundary and direction it moves. The plates in Earth’s crust perform two actions; they submerge under each other or they spread out. The Pacific Plate is the largest plate and it borders around many plates. The Pacific Plate moves northwest. New crust is formed from magma outpours, which are a result of the zones spreading. The tectonic plates created the islands. When the tectonic plates move, it creates the change in geography. Active volcanoes together shape the way islands are build. The magma from the volcano and the deposits from the plate are needed to create the pacific islands structure. The buildup of deposits eventually pushes pass sea level to create the island. The islands that are part of the same volcanic chain will all take over a millions years to rise.…

Catch 22 Joseph Heller satirizes, among other matters, red tape and bureaucracy in his first novel, Catch-22. The novel concerns itself with a World War II bombardier named Yossarian who suddenly realizes the danger of his position and tries various means to extricate himself from further missions. Yossarian is driven crazy by the Germans, who keep shooting at him when he drops bombs on them, and by his American superiors, who seem less concerned about winning the war than…

The provided scenario gives an account of a busy emergency department with competent staff, and the multiple errors that led up to the most severe error possible in healthcare, unnecessary death of a patient. A root cause analysis (RCA) can be utilized to help understand the systems at fault within the facility so that improvements can be determined and implemented to prevent any future occurrences (Cherry, 456). RCAs focus on systems rather than blaming individuals involved, therefore they are only appropriate in cases where there has been no willful negligence or criminal acts (Huber & Ogrinc, 2014). The overall purpose of RCAs is to find out the causes of the adverse event and determine how to keep similar errors from repeating in the future.…

Back in the Marveloso Valley, our team was provided with money to excavate up to three sites. In sector 4, the group decided to further pursue the following sites: MARV-61, MARV-69, and MARV-75. One of the reasons we decided on these particular sites is that all three come from the La Plata phase. The La Plata phase occurred between the years of 1000 to 1450 AD. During this time, the Wari Empire collapsed and the valley segmented into local kingdoms in some coast and highland areas. Since sector 4 is located in the highlands, it is probable that this region had been divided into kingdoms. By further investigating three sites from the same phase, we believe we will be able to have a better understanding and a larger plethora of knowledge about this time period. In addition, because the majority of our sites came about from this era, the team believed it was a wise thought to focus on the La Plata phase. Another reason we chose these sites is because of their grand distances from one another. All three are located in the vicinity of the river but MARV-61 is located at the lower end, MARV- 69 in the midsection, and MARV- 75 near the upper portion of the sector. Given the information that sporadic warfare was common during this period, we thought this was a significant observation and would provide additional background information to any artifacts we may find at the sites. The final reason as to the designation of these sites is the varying structures found at each. Since each site had different structures and therefore different purposes, as a team we believed that this would give us more insight into those particular aspects of life during the La Plata Phase.…

Should the government take control of our rights? Roger McGrath use many past events to portray the events that could happen if the government was to take control of our rights. He gives evidence of how the English treated the Scotts and Irish to show that the second amendment shouldn’t be infringed. His main point is that it is God’s given natural right to have freedom. In “A God-Given Natural Right”, McGrath effectively uses picturesque words to express his reason why we should have the right to bear arms.…
