Ocean's Mirror
(Name) Ocean’s Mirror- Nature’s own natural reflective surface. Inspired by the light reflecting onto the ocean.

Purpose of Gauge-
• To record the different light patterns surfacing across the water from the sun at different stages of the day, particular in the morning up until 10 a.m. when the sun begins to shine at its brightest point.

Time
• Approximately 6:45 a.m. when sunrise began up until to 10:35 when the sun began its strongest starting point during the day.

Mapping/ Inspiration
• Wind- coming from the north side of beach, making the waves comes forth toward the beach and therefore having a stronger reflection on gauge.
• Water- Leading map that uses all elements to create ephemeral moment.
• Sunlight- Strongest near the start of the beach, with different lighting throughout the day, and gauge positioned facing exactly at the sun.
• Tides- creates ripple effects, and different levels of patterns.

Observations
• Began the observation with my gauge at 6:45 a.m. because that was the time of sunrise, at this time witnessed that the sun was stronger and more direct, with light patterns having more of a yellow effect.

• Near the 7:30 mark, there weren’t many waves but the sun was even more direct therefore it created a reflection on a brighter light.

• Slowly the light started to spread and become less focus, with minimal waves reaching the gauge, until before 9 a.m. when waves started to becomes stronger.

• The progression continued up until near 10 a.m., with waves becoming closer at different times. But because 10 a.m. was when the sun started it’s strongest peak, little reflection of the sun can be seen.

Factors
• Wind- The direction of the wind, affected the tides. So I had to place my gauge facing the wind, so the tides would comes towards my gauge.
• Sun- Experiment with different sun levels through out the day, with sunrise and peak of sun. To make sure there was a strong reflection; gauge had to be directly
