My Best Friend Essay Example
My Best friend.
My best friend is a very special lady I grew up with, my sister Roberta. My sister Robert is two years younger than me, but everyone always assumes she is older than me. She always laughs at me when I tease her by saying it must be because I look younger than her. We have been there for each other through all the important milestones in our lives; from our wild and fun childhoods, to our first day of school, to the births of our first born children.
My sister Roberta loves working and being outdoors when she can. She also loves building things and using power tools; sometimes I think she is half man and half woman. And she loves playing volleyball with a passion, when we play for fun or in any volleyball tournament; we always play on the same team. She was my maid of honor when I married my husband twelve years ago, when I walked up to the alter, she jokingly told my husband, “I’m giving her to you, and once your married, you can’t give her back ok.” She made all of us laugh. She has been there for me and my husband and children when we needed help for anything.
My sister has been there through the births of all my children, and she has seen me through the darkest times of my life when I lost two of my children and when I went through post-partum depression. She has always been a source of strength, and happiness throughout my life. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my sister Roberta, as she has done so much for me. She calls me mom sometimes, because I am always looking out for her and everyone in my family after we lost our mother. We make sure we get together at least once or twice a week for a girls night of stories, jokes, movies and laughter, or when we travel somewhere, we try to travel together and we always have tons of fun. We are always joking around; there is never a dull moment when we are together. I thank the good Lord for blessing me with my awesome

When I was small, like every child I had a dream, well more like many dreams. Like every little girl I either fantasized about becoming something like a princess or big star. As I grew up ,I began to realize that life isn’t a fantasy and that I have to answer my true calling and eventually led to discovering my real passion ,which is English. Like any kid going to school, they have to learn English, most dreaded the idea of learning the subject but to me it was something that made me explore all the techniques of the English and the way writers use so many methods of writing to express what they feel through writing.…

I’ve selected “The Ugly Friend” essay out of the three provided. Telling herself (Lyn Kilpatrick) as “an ugly” woman, representing the central idea of this essay. The main reason behind choosing “the ugly friend” as a central idea is that the woman who wrote this essay is very open toward her look and not hesitate to accept the observation of her look by others. She talked about her appearance and the charm to others about women in the whole story. Through “The ugly Friend” she was successful showing her fulfilment about being engaged. Therefore, it really shows that she is really into her man and looking forward to spend her life with her future husband ignoring what others might be thinking of her. She just wanted to enjoy the moment being single with her friend. She is very happy to tell other people (men) that she does not need to attract men of her appearance. All this justify “the ugly friend” as a central idea of the essay.…

The thrill of being dropped from incredible heights, tossed upside down, thrown side to side, spun around and around at high speeds was not my thing. It was more of a great fear and anxiety for me. A fear which I have had since I was only little. Going to theme parks with the roller coasters and rides built up like tall trees in a forest around you and the sound of the thrill seekers screams like birds flying around above me echoing long after in my head made me envious of how much fun they were having, so that’s when I decided it was time to overcome my phobia of Rollercoasters.…

I have a friend, his name is Dima. I know him about five years. He amazed me by his intelligence and brainy. He knows the answer on any question. Even if he doesn’t know the correct answer, he’ll find the way to explain it. I appreciate his optimism and indifference at the same time. When something bad has happened, he is always determined. He says that next time he would be more sense and had learned a lot from that situation. And next day he behaves as if nothing has happened. Moreover he looks indifferently at some situations that help him not to work up. Dima has got a unique humor; I can’t stop smiling when he begins joking. He is unconventional. He looks differently at the world. I can’t even imagine what is going on in his head. Also Dima is broad-minded, he is keen on travelling. He visits different places four times a year, moreover he adore snowboarding, that’s why the main part of his trips includes mountains. Dima is easy-going, he can easily find common ground. Nevertheless each person has negative sides of his character. Sometimes Dima is brusque and impolite. His straightforwardness spurns people. If he doesn’t gain person, he will deal shortly with him. I don’t think that it’s bad behavior, but sometimes it goes over the line. However he is frank and open-hearted. He enjoys having heart-to-heart talk with family and friends. In spite of his imperturbability he is vulnerable deep in his mind. But he won’t show it, because he thinks that it points out man’s weakness.…
