There is no clear cut definition of literature. For it changes depending on the genre and person defining it. Imaginitive literature portrays imagination through writing. Imaginitive literature is usually written in the forms of poetry, novels and much more. Theirs form of literature is used to mainly spark the emotions people have inside them. They consist of made up situations. In forms of legends, fairy tales, myths and fantasies. This sparks our emotions because without us even knowing it, we are reacting and playing out the scenarios that we are reading. When people read imaginitive literature it is thought to be life changing, in the sense that you look at many other things in a whole different perspective. Reading imaginitive literature helps us understand the creative elements of literature. Such as the pointof view, tone and character.
The literary canon is a way that literature is viewed. I believe that it is defined as the classification of literature. The literary cannon separates different areas of reading into which are the best from that time period or country. A few centuries ago in the 1960's there were many literary works what went back under view to be seen differently. This happened because women weren't veiwed equally. A literary cannon creates a collection of similar or related works.
Week 2:
Many times writers interests their readers right off the bat by their plot. A plot is described as the story or sequence of events in something such as a novel, play, or movie. Ways that this helps readers get into a work of literature it by the climax and conflict between characters. The climax is where the reader is going to experience the greatest emotion and have the highest interest. A.L Bader is completely correct in which there is not much plot development in a modern short story.
In the short story “Soldiers Home” by Ernest Hemingway there is not much of a plot going on. In my opinion there is no beginning, middle, or end. Ernest
