Although we enjoyed reading To Kill a Mockingbird, we were eager to see the film version. We were somewhat disappointed in the movie because it left out some of the main scenes. On the other hand, the movie is 2 hours and 9 minutes. The movie never leaves you predicting what will happen next. Nevertheless, our opinions are that we favored the book over the movie.…

It feels like i’ve been stuck on this island forever. Our only chance of being rescued was ruined by the hunters, now known as Jack and his tribe. They were supposed to keep the fire going at all times so that if a ship passed by they would see the smoke and come to rescue us. A simple task such as this was obviously too much for them, and just like that we missed what might have been our only chance of ever being saved.…
A famous man once said “It is not what society can do for man, but it is what man can do for society.” This means that what we can do can affect our society for the better or for the worst. In his essay, Epstein stated that the theme of The Lord of the Flies was an attempt to trace the defects of human nature back to the defects of society. Golding was specifically stating that these defects were traits that negatively affect our society as a whole. Traits such as the lack of self-control, and pride lead to the main cause for the society we live in; aggression.…

My book report is going to be about Diary of a Wimpy Kid, double down. When I first saw this book I was expecting an elaborate story line, many plot twists, and great character development. The main characters are Greg, Mr. Heffley, Mrs. Heffley, Rowley, and his baby brother Manny. Greg is the narrator of the book and the book is things that happen to him that he wants to write down. Mr. and Mrs. Heffley are his parents. Rowley is his best friend, Greg also has two brothers named Rodrick and Manny. I didn’t include Rodrick as a main character because he only shows up every one page and so. He also has a pet pig that has learned to walk and wear pants. The settings are Greg’s house, one friend’s house, his school, and I guess his car. In the start of the book, Greg said about how he saw this movie about how some guy was being recorded secretly for a TV show.…

In a Sunday his mother had a "house meeting" and said that money was tight that year and they couldn't afford to go to the beach, which means no family vacation. Now Greg only has two things to look forward to this summer. One is his birthday, and the other is when the last "Li'l Cutie" (the worst comic ever) runs in the paper.…
By living in a visual world, companies frequently run ads using photoshopped pictures. The image presented is near perfect in appearance, yet it is not always truthful. Despite the numerous cautions implied by doctors or inscribed on cigarette packets, smoking has been a fashionable trend throughout the years. Some advertisements influence individuals in becoming addicted to the nicotine inside the health hazard wrapped within paper. Other advertisements tend to sway the viewer into pondering the general concern of the problem at hand. Photographer Mike Stubbs’s photo of Terrie Hall focuses on his subject’s physical appearance not altered in photoshop, instead, altered by surgery. By presenting Terrie Hall, a former smoker, in this advertisement, the harsh and shocking truth about smoking is exposed.…

Most importantly, though it is the time when everyone is trying to find where they belong.
