There was a hair found in a van with stolen goods that was said to link James to the van in the garage of the rented house of Perry. Perry disappeared before the hearing so it was said the James killed him so he could not go to court against him. But DNA testing was not performed. LAter the hair was sent to London for testing and proved that both were innocent.…
Terrill Swift in 1998 was convicted of the rape and murder of Nina Glover in 1994. The crime was committed by five young boys, four of them were minors at the time of the crime. Glover was a prostitute who regularly used drugs. At the time of the investigation the police interviewed four people, those being the garbage truck driver who found her body, an assistant manager of a liquor store, a neighborhood resident and a man named Jonny Douglas. The police searched for a while to find the suspects of the crime and after a while of searching a young man confessed to the crime and named off four boys names who helped him commit the crime. There was no real evidence that linked the boys to the crime other than the confession. Twelve years after…

The crime was committed by the East side serial rapist at the time, even though the police identified the semen found at the scene was none of theirs they still pinned the five for the crime. Likewise even though one of the cops who worked for both the serial rapist and jogger case had both semen samples he never cross checked the semen of the similar motives. The only time the five were acquitted for their crime was when Matias Reyes the man behind the decade old crime met Wise in jail and felt ashamed of sending innocent men to prison. All of the five in 2002 were admonished from their…
Fiber evidence has become an essential part of criminal cases involving personal contacts such as homicide, assault, or sexual offenses in which cross-transfers may occur between the clothing of the suspect and victim. (Saferstein, 2015). Fiber evidence has not played a significant role in many cases involving large amounts of casualties until Wayne Williams, the Atlanta Child Murderer. (Deadman, 1984) During an investigation fibrous debris removed from the bodies of twelve victims were used to link Williams to the victim; however, Williams was charged with only two victims out of the known victims.…

As you will see, I have found substantial evidence linking the defendant to the crime.…
In the year of 1991 a murder had taken place that brought upon suspicion and several conflicts amongst officials. The murder was of a man by the name of Frank Boyle and one of the suspects for the crime was Michael Feeney, the police had been informed that he was seen near the victim’s truck earlier that day. During the investigation of the murder, the police went to Feeney’s residence and waited for him to come out. When there was no answer, the police had to barge in and they searched the premises without permission. The house was an equipment trailer and the police found Feeney in his bed, they told him to get up and they saw blood stains on Feeney’s shirt. After noticing blood on his shirt the police immediately arrested him and briefly advised him of the right to a council. The accused was asked several questions and his shirt was later seized. He had been questioned for eight hours straight and he still wasn’t able to contact his lawyer, during the questioning Feeney admitted to stealing the victim’s cigarettes, beer and also some cash.…
will then begin to outline my theory that Jay was the one who committed this murder.…
It seemed to me that one of the major areas of evidence towards his conviction was the semen sample. He could not be ruled out because it was the semen of a non-secretor and he was a non-secretor. With the advances in DNA testing technology, they can test the semen and easily identify whose it is. This would have immediately been great evidence in proving that Ireland was innocent. I don’t really understand how the hair and fingerprint evidence weren’t weighed more heavily. If it was proven that the fingerprints and the hair at the scene of the crime weren’t his, that seems to me that it should have been pretty good evidence in his favor. To me it seems like he wasn’t given a fair chance at being proven…
This story is about two people, two victims of crime. Two people that suffered from circumstance and circumstantial evidence. Ronald Cotton and Jennifer Thompson are these two people. This story is about the way circumstantial evidence convicts and the way DNA exonerates.…
On April 15th, 2013 in Boston, Massachusetts, there was a bombing attack that killed two innocent women, a young child and wounded over two hundred. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his older brother were accused to be the bombers and after the older brother was killed, along with a Boston Police Officer, Tsarnaev’s face was on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. When the issue was released, the picture caused a huge controversy on whether or not it should be the cover photo. Some stores refused to sell that issue of the magazine and people also refused to buy it. But then some people thought that the cover was fine and showed things people wouldn’t think about.…
In June of 1994, in Los Angeles County, California, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were murdered just outside of the former’s condominium. Not much later, O.J. Simpson was arrested for the double homicide. Evidence pointing towards Simpson’s guilt was powerful and plentiful. This included Nicole’s blood found on Simpson’s sock, Simpson’s hair on Goldman’s body, and a pair of bloody gloves, one found near the victims and the other in Simpson’s home. The biggest factor in determining the outcome of Simpson’s trial turned out to be the bloody glove found at the crime scene, which did not fit Simpson’s left hand. Despite all the evidence, Simpson’s legal team was able to prove him innocent because of this unexplainable uncertainty. Whether…
Tom Robinson was accused of raping a girl named Mayella. “...That raped my Mayella” (Foote 23). He did no such thing and the jury did not believe his side of the story. There was clear evidence that he did not do the crime. Mayella had bruises on her right side (Foote 56). Tom…
There were only a few key pieces of key evidence found at the Kercher crime scene, none of which can be positively linked to Amanda Knox. The key pieces of evidence that led to her conviction were a knife, a bloody footprint, and Kercher’s bra clip with Amanda’s boyfriend’s DNA on it (Longhini). After reviewing this evidence, many experts will agree that Knox’s conviction is absolutely absurd. Because of the lack of evidence and no suspects, the Perugian investigators used the media’s influence to persuade the judges and citizens of Knox’s guilt.…
The murder of JonBenét Ramsey is a case that still goes unsolved to this day. While some speculate that the mother and/or father had something to do with the murder of their daughter, others believe that an intruder is responsible for her death. There are multiple clues supporting each theory. Despite these contrasting theories, no one has ever been charged for this pageant queen’s murder. The parents were eventually acquitted when DNA at the scene was found to belong to a male not related to the Ramsey family. (“JonBenet Ramsey Murder Fast Facts.”)…
