EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The commodity market possesses the immense potential in this new age. To understand the market trends is an important matter for the commodity market. Thus, ‘to study the volatility in commodity market trends in india’ is the research topic as the summer project. The prime objective is to know the trend of the commodity market and seasonal index in india with some specific commodities.
Descriptive research design has been used. As this project will describe the situation of the return on the different commodities, the raw data of the spot prices of the commodities are used. Secondary data has been used in this research. It is mainly collected from the jainam securities own terminal and mcx literature. The analysis tool and techniques like, time series analysis, seasonal variation method, 3 monthly moving average have been used.
The analysis for trend and seasonal variations analysis is limited with the four commoditites, i.e. gold, copper, crude oil, natural gas.
The major findings of this research report are as under.
The trend and its status and indication for the four commodities.
The seasonal variation impact, and the best time for investment and trading or withdrawing or exchanging the status between the commodities of the four commodities.

It is clear the entire research report that the commodity market is very much potential. The return on the commodity trading and investment is also considerable. Commodity market is a strong competitor of the equity market, as the scope of it rises continuously. It also provide the platform for the traders, hedgers as well as the speculators as it provides good
