Zoo's Use
I think that zoo's can be good and bad. First I will tell you why I think that they can be good. One reason that zoo's are good because people get a chance to see animals that only live in certain parts of the world. A lot of cool animals live in other parts of the world and many people have never seen them in the wild. Seeing those animals in the zoo is the next best thing to seeing them in the wild. Another reason is that a trip to the zoo can be very educational. You learn about the animal and you can see what it looks like. Every zoo that I've seen had a little sign in front of the animal telling a little bit about the animal and where its from so you learn a lot about the animals that you may have never known without visiting a zoo. People often learn more when they actually get a chance to see the animals rather than in pictures. My next reason is that some of the animals in the zoos are orphans and would not have been able to survive in the wild. Zoos give those animals a chance to live. A zoo offers animals food, protection, and water that they may not have been able to find out in the wild. My final reason that zoos are good is that animals are protected from poachers and other dangerous animals. Some animals may be endangered and need some protection. A zoo gives animals protection and can help to increase the animal's population because they have no threat of being killed.

Now I will list the reasons I think zoos are bad. My first reason is that the animals often get bored and you can see them walking back in forth in their pens looking for something to do. Many animals need more room to run around and get rid of some of their energy. Keeping an animal in a small area can cause the animals to get depressed and stop eating. Another reason is that the animals need their natural habitat. Zoo keepers try to make the animals feel like their in their natural habitat but a lot of times it's not close enough to the real habitat for the animal to feel at home.

Zoos are like internment camps and should be shut down. Animals deserve the right to live out their lives in their natural habitat, not be the source of human entertainment. Zoos are more detrimental to animals than they are good for them, even though there are conservation efforts and educational purposes for having animals in captivity. The negative aspects far outweigh any positive effects when it comes to having animals in captivity due to poor living conditions, failure to educate, and psychological trauma.…

Zoos appear to be fun, but as you get more in depth are they what they seem to be? If animals could talk they would answer that question with “no” but, they cannot. So, instead of them telling you the horrors of zoos, I will. In zoos, animals are forced to live in a small area and have to learn to adapt to a new lifestyle. Some animals suffer from serious problems that they would most likely not experience if they were not in a zoo. Zoos affect the animals wildlife, their natural behavior, and zoos cause injuries and deaths upon animals and humans.…

I, like many children, have been to zoos when I was younger. Upon visiting zoos, I have decided that zoos are very cruel to keep animals caged up, often in regions and climates very different from their natural habitat. For example, elephants travel for miles in packs, when in zoos there are only several elephants with only several acres to walk around.…

Many zoos have rescued tons of animals and have given them a safe place to stay while they heal. The zoos have rescued animals from birds to sea creatures. Without zoos, some animal species could even be close to being endangered. In the wild, if an animal gets injured, they don’t have doctor like we do. If they are found injured…

For many years people have debated whether zoos are bad or good. There is the debate about animal cruelty to some extent because the animals are locked up in a cage where they have no freedom. And the other one is how animals in captivity is a good cause due to the dangers that are present in the wild now in days. These two points are an endless debate in which both sides are equivalent to each other. Yet I strongly believe that animals in captivity have more chance of survival than if they were released back into the wild.…

    Are Zoos Beneficial?

A lot of times when zoos don't have enough money they sometimes have to mix animals that don't mix or have to make their cages smaller. Some zoos are money hungry and feel like they have to make show after show to get more money and this could tire out the animals. A lot of the money is taken away from where it is needed. One million a year is spent on elephants at zoos but it would be a lot more beneficial if the zoos sent one million to africa for their elephants. In addition It cost a lot to run a zoo so when people first start out they might not have enough money for the equipment, food, and ect for the animals.…

Here are some reasons that being in captivity is good. The first reason that captivity is good is, being safe from hunters so they don’t get killed the zoos are guarded by workers and security guards. The other great thing about captivity is you get to eat whenever you want when you are in the wild you have to hunt for your food. The last thing is that you can not get eaten by other animals because it is a separate exhibit so the other animals can’t get you.…

Let’s face it a tiger in a zoo cage isn’t very appealing to the naked eye; the animals seemed distressed and lazy, but is a zoo the main cause of this generality? Although many Americans believe that animals shouldn’t be kept in zoo captivity, but rather be allowed to roam their natural habitat, Americans should consider the zoo a beneficial home because the animals receive a better diet, foreign exploration leads to a comfortable zoo home, and breeding stability in a zoo provides an enhanced genetic code of animals that can aid in medical discoveries for animals and people.…

It causes very stressful situations for the animals, and is not an educational experience for children. Zoos only teach children that it is okay to get an animal that is not at all adapt to the surrounding, and place it in a cage to be stared at all day. A proper way to educate the community about wild animals is by watching a documentary, where their living style is not interrupted, or changed in any way. As for the business owners who claim to be doing the world a favor, some may actually mean what they say, but roadside zoo owners do not. Sanctuaries are accepted because it is an attempt at the actual environment they are adapted to, and everything in it is real. The world may not see how damaging zoos are to the wildlife we are surrounded by, but the animals looking at us do. It is time to speak up for those in captivity and be the voice they never…

Animals are dying all over America and zoos are the criminal’s behind it! Not too long ago, a Tiger was poisoned in a Nevada Zoo. The zookeepers claim they did it for the animals “own good”, They claim that it was all just a myth. Another incident, in the same Nevada Zoo, an animal was not fed and starved to death. Again the zookeepers deny the fact they did it on purpose. According to PETA, (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), They finally came out and said, “they needed more room in the zoo.” My opinion is, they should’ve just donated the animal to another zoo or let it free. This is why i think zoos are bad.…
