I believe the song You Lie by The Band Perry and Maddie’s mom lying to her go well together because they both are about lying. When Maddie first finds out that her my has been lying to her she notices little things when she asks questions about her SCID sickness and she was wondering why she looked so nervous when she did ask. In the song there’s a part where it says, “So why you lookin’ so nervous”, so I figured that her mom was nervous and Maddy found out that she was lying because of her nervousness.
