Write A Narrative About Moving Away
It was a cloudy summer day and I was going to camp. I can remember my Mom forcing me out of the vehicle to meet other kids with the same look on their faces that I had. We were all being loaded up onto the bus and my thoughts of the future events were as negative as they could be. After the hours of driving, the destination was right beyond my eyes. A glistening circular lake with unkempt looking cabins was among us. In the little amount of time acquaintances were made, with one being Dawson. We were on our way to Canobie Lake Park. It had been a long two hours, but my dad was playing comedian albums from his phone, so we were preoccupied. “Are we almost there?” my brother asked. “No, were not stop asking.” Little brothers can be so annoying with their questions. We were almost there just five minutes to go. The view was so gorgeous. The lake was glistening from the sun. I had been to focused on the view and before I knew it we were at the…

It was a long hot summer day as me and my cousins sat around the tank at our ranch as we thought of something to do after the morning dove hunt was over. I was 10, my cousin Lane was twelve, and the rest of my cousins ages ranged all the way from seven to thirteen. We were all drained from the sun, with our young age we couldn't sit in the sun and possibly have an energy. Lane is the oldest as he lead the pack with such a great lead he was disappearing over the distant hills. Austin was so young we were having to carry his gun and shells. Anson was the second youngest, and Austins brother, they were almost in the same condition but with Ansons older age he was able to carry his own weight. Ryan was dragging behind with his heavier set body…

Who could've thought moving states could cause such a change? I never knew it could… this much. As the for sale was ripped out of my yard, we returned back into my previous house. This was the day we moved to hot and big Texas. We hauled all our boxes, big and small, short and tall, into the moving truck. “Let's go,” my mom yelled. We started our journey to Texas, and I could already feel sorrow in my heart.…

When I was born, my family started to struggle with bills and payments. So we had to make a hard choice and to move from California all the way to Cresco. And I haven’t seen my family since I was a baby which, I have no memory of them and I haven’t seen them since we moved. I use to always think of my family or be listening to a song that reminds me of them. Then soon or later I started to cry and ask my mom about my family. And they would say “It takes time”.…

I’ve worked my whole life to get to the spot I am in today, and now there is a chance it could all go away. When I began my adventure of college soccer, I thought it was going to be smooth sailing from this point on. That would only make sense right? Considering I’ve worked my whole life to make my dream a reality, and play college soccer at the top level. Unfortunately some problems that are out of my hands could corrupt the environment at my campus. I was raised, since eight years of age in Canton, a northern community in Georgia. My upbringing was in a suburban setting, relatively quiet and with a lot of friendships developed right from my neighborhood. Except for vacations to Florida, most of my friends never left Canton and went to the same elementary, middle and high school. Our parents drove us to school, enrolled me in Lacrosse, baseball and football. I grew with, what I consider, a very normal American childhood.…

I know I’m moving in the right direction when I have the power to keep going even after facing challenges thrown at me from life. I always believed that for success to be tangible, I have to be resilient and optimistic. The ability to withstand stress, adapt, and overcome changes in life is what helps keep me on track and reach your goals. Of course, controlling thoughts and keeping sane through changes in life isn’t as easy as it sounds and that is what I didn’t know the moment I emigrated to America. Even though I had the mentality of never giving up, I didn’t know how difficult it is until unexpected changes beyond my control tested my resilience. The difficulty of speaking the language, dealing with the cultural differences, and most importantly,…

I remember when they kicked us out. It was only a couple of weeks ago. We Indians were minding our own business when the troops first came. They dragged us out of our tents and sent us walking with only the clothes on our back. My family decided to go to the Oklahoma region along with our tribe. And so here we are, walking through forests, woods, and plains on The Trail of Tears, looking for our destination. We have been walking since, and our clothing can do nothing against the harsh rain, snow, and coldness.…
