Dr. J.K. McClain and other members of the cardiology department consulted on the patient. They felt that his hypoxia and breathlessness were not secondary to his cardiac status. He had supraventricular cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. The cardiology staff utilized intravenous medications that controlled the cardiac rate, adequately resolving these cardiac issues. I managed the patient’s ventilator and the intensive care status along with my respiratory therapy team. Unfortunately the patient developed multiple infections, hospital acquired, including klebsiella…

I have caught up with Consuelo around ten weeks since the last appointment. Unfortunately, during holidays in Italy in mid July Consuelo developed an upper respiratory tract infection followed by a chesty cough. She had high fevers and took a course of Augmentin Duo Forte. She also required extra Ventolin and pleasingly her asthma was not too bad. She returned a couple of weeks ago and again in the last week has developed another upper respiratory tract infection. I note she is completing another course of Augmentin Duo Forte with an ear infection identified by yourself. Again her asthma has been not too bad, but she has been taking some extra Ventolin as a precautionary measure.…

13-year-old female patient initially inpatient treated at a peripheral Children's Hospital with respiratory symptoms since a few days as part of an infection of the upper airways. Rapid respiratory worsening in the clinical course with the need for intubation. Influenza A was positively detected. During the intubation a temporary resuscitation was needed. Continuously increasing of catecholamine and ventilation requirements post intubation (PIP = 40 cmH2O, PEEP = 15 cmH2O, FiO2 = 100%). For an escalation of treatment due to the clinical presentation of fulminant septic shock due to the basis of an influenza infection (CrP 354 mg/l, Procalcitonin 3855 µg/l, Leukocytes 6,600/µl), the patient was taking over to our pediatric intensive care unit.…

The first question to address is what captivity narratives are. “Captivity narratives are stories of people captured by "uncivilized" enemies. The narratives often include a theme of redemption by faith in the face of the threats and temptations of an alien way of life.” (Wikipedia 2011). Women such as Mary Rowlandson, Mary Jemison, and Hannah Duston we are all held captive by the natives and Indians and managed to live to tell about it.…
There was a young women name Mary. She had a vision for her life. But what happens to her takes her on a journey. The choices we make in life can better the future or leave it with a lot of pain as Mary finds out. It seems like Mary’s life was a rollercoaster ride at six flags, so many adjustments. Moreover, going through the pain, love, and success of finally being content within herself. In addition, enjoying the happiness that is put upon her, allowing God to direct her path in life to reach success. Believing that these steps were not motivated by her but it was the force of god.…
History: Martha Wilmington, a 74-year-old woman with a history of rheumatic fever while in her twenties, presented to her physician with complaints of increasing shortness of breath ("dyspnea") upon exertion. She also noted that the typical swelling she's had in her ankles for years has started to get worse over the past two months, making it especially difficult to get her shoes on toward the end of the day. In the past week, she's had a decreased appetite, some nausea and vomiting, and tenderness in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen.…
