Worth Playing Lottery

Is it worth playing the lottery to strike it rich with hundreds, millions, or even billions of dollars? According to Google, a lottery is means of raising money by selling numbered tickets and rewarding the winners with money who were chosen at random. Some lotteries are different from others depending on the game, the amount of cash that can be won, and even the amount of people participating in it. All of them have one thing in common though: The only way of winning is by chance. This impacts society because more money being used to pay for tickets, could be used for society. The lottery should not be used to meet financial desires because the odds of winning are small, it can become addictive, and winning can lead to problems in the future. Many would argue that the lottery is good thing to use constantly because it is an easy way to become rich. “Some people compulsively play the lottery because they just know they will eventually win” (Addiction Search). This also makes the lottery very addicting because motivation makes people want to keep going and going causing them to lose more and more money.
