December 17, 2015 Solar Energy The use of solar energy is increasing throughout the world. Solar energy is used to make light, run computers and to conserve energy. Today we used fossil fuel to run factories and make electricity but little do the people know, one day we are going to run out of oil because it’s not a renewable source. Then what are we going to do ? We would have no other choice then to start using the sun for energy, so why not start now ? That’s one source that will never run out. “The sun comes in the form of solar radiation and travels in electromagnetic waves.” “It takes about eight minutes and twenty seconds, for solar radiation to travel from the sun’s surface to the earth.” Some waves are visible to the human eye, meaning you can actually see the waves coming from the sun. Solar energy is not only used for lighting homes, it's also used for the growth of the plant life. Without the sun, the plants wouldn’t be able to preform photosynthesis used to help with the growth.“Green plants have a light- absorbing pigment called chlorophyll.” “The energy that chlorophyll absorbs, powers a chemical reaction between water and carbon dioxide.” “It also powers the wind and the rain.” “ Without the sun’s energy, our planet would be just another lifeless rock in space.” The nuclear explosions deep inside the sun causes the sun’s energy. “The sun’s core is about twenty-seven million degrees fahrenheit.” Eventually all that energy heads into space as electromagnetic …show more content…
