Words To Describe Me

In a recent interview, I was asked to share four words that describe me. As I shared the words, overcomer, hard worker, integrity, and leader, I soon realized that they were more than words, but represented life experiences that shaped my identity and have defined who I am today. While those experiences were not what I necessarily wanted or asked for, they provided an opportunity to learn a strong work ethic, live with integrity, grow in my leadership, and become an overcomer of life’s struggles. In life, each of us has the opportunity to be a whiner or a winner; a victim or a victor. In my short span of life, I have seen the value of the latter and the destruction of the former. I did not realize it at the time, but challenges and struggles in life can either destroy you or make you stronger.

When I was in the third grade at the ripe age of nine years old, I broke my arm and was diagnosed with a Unicameral Bone Cist (UBC) in my left humerus bone. This childhood disease causes a cyst to appear in the bone and eats the bone away. Within a year of working at that company, I have become the second man in charge and have continuously train new employees. How did I come to this position so quickly?
