Wonder By R J Palacio Summary
Wonder by R.J. Palacio centers the life of a young boy named August. It is an eye opening story to effects of bullying. At the age of 10, Auggie starts middle school. Due to his facial deformity, he has to deal with the facts that he is not ‘ordinary’, but ‘extraordinary’. His journey through 5th grade is tough, fortunately, he has his friends to guide him through. Friends such as Summer.

I truly admire Summer’s unique and one of a kind personality. The moment when Summer came and sat by August, I was so relieved that there was someone who dared to be different. Dared to be kind.
I no doubt agree with Summer when she quotes; “Some kids have actually come out and asked me why I hang out with “the freak” so much. They don’t even know him.
