HSP 3UI Social Issues Essay: Stage Three
Essay Outline Introduction:
Women have many roles in today’s society such as a caregiver, housewife, cook, a wife and many more. Within the past century, her role has been altered and added to. She is now a worker. Women have not always been treated as equal in the workforce and still are not. Women work harder just to achieve the same success that men do, with many more obstacles.
Essentially, women carry more roles than men do and have busier lives so why are they being paid significantly less? Such as majorities in all other aspects of life, women are often considered minorities of the workforce. It is unfair that women do not receive nearly as equal pay as men do when they are more deserving of a higher salary and such should be altered in order to change the equality complication between genders. Women qualify for a higher or equal pay than men do because they significantly work harder, have a lot more responsibilities and self esteem and confidence levels are typically lower. Body Paragraph 1:
Topic Sentence:
As many may disagree, studies have shown that women do work substantially harder than men do. Point 1
: Women tend to be better at academics than men.
Proof 1: “Girls are increasingly out performing boys in the classroom, earning about 57% of the undergraduate and 60% of the master’s degrees in the United States.” (Sandberg, 2013)
“During a ten­minute experimental trial, female subjects worked 2.5 minutes compared to 2.1 minutes for male subjects without a privacy filter installed and 4.9 minutes versus 4.3 minutes for male subjects with a privacy filter installed.” (Ackerman, 2013)

● If women work harder academically, they will bring that determination into the workforce as well
● Academic success tells a lot about the gender, more driven and hard working to succeed in what they are striving for
● Generally smarter which will bring benefits into their work places

    In general, men earn more than women in almost every job. Most businesses state that they offer equal opportunities for men and women. However, men still dominate the job market and hold the majority of jobs with high prestige. Men usually receive promotions over women that have equal qualifications.
