Besides not owning property and being able to vote they were not paid equal to men. Men could do more physical labor jobs compared to women. Therefore they were not given jobs like construction for example. Blue collar jobs dominated the workforce in the late 1800’s. The jobs for women were simpler like being a waitress or being a nurse. Women were also not given the chance to earn an education because men did not think they needed to have an education. Common tasks now like being able to vote and owning property are no longer an issue because of the laws of equality the American government has implemented into the constitution. Before these were major issues and it shows now how far society has come to where those simple things are almost forgotten of how much women had to fight for. Women even to this day feel like they don’t have equal rights and that is still true in some parts. They still do not have the equal pay that they would like and still are looked down as they are not superior or equal to
