Why Was George Washington Important

While all of America’s Founding Fathers were truly essential for its creation and survival, the most important out of all of them was George Washington. Firstly and foremost, George Washington was the commander in chief during the Revolutionary war, so his role was crucial to it's victory for America. Secondly, George Washington had served as head of the militia forces during the Whiskey Rebellion to save America when it was still considered young. Finally, Washington had facilitated the Jay treaty, preventing the still young America from a war with Britain, which it wasn’t prepared for. Firstly, George Washington was commander in chief during the Revolutionary war. His ability to lead his troops had saved the war efforts multiple times. The first instance is when Washington and his troops had crossed the delaware river. They had done this on Christmas day in 1776, and had taken Hessian mercenaries stationed in Trenton by surprise, allowing them to temporarily occupy and capture Trenton. The second instance of this is when Washington had managed to single handedly save the war effect in the winter of 1777. By this point Washington and his army were forced to retreat to valley
A rebellion had occurred due to the tax on whiskey, and in order to prevent the rebellion from spiraling out of control, or from inspiring future rebellions, Washington had taken control of militia forces. The rioters, when seeing the militia forces, and Washington, had decided to stop fighting. Finally, Washington had facilitated the Jay treaty, In 1795, George Washington had sent one of his most trusted diplomats, John Jay to Great Britain in order create the Jay treaty.
