Why Teenagers Should Be Considered As Adults
Did you know that cultures like Judaism consider 13-year-old boys and 12-year-old girls as adults? Many people consider teenagers as adults at different times. Teens can be considered as adult at multiple ages including 16 18 and 21. Teenagers should be considered as adults at 21 when they have all the rights that a full-grown person has.

Teens are usually considered as adults once they are allowed to drive and vote. This is because by the time you have all these rights your body is usually fully-grown. The body is fully grown by 21 in most people so they are easily considered adults.

The mind matures slower than the body in most people. In some people, they can know right from wrong faster than others can. Others however may not learn for a long time. This is important because it may be hard to tell if one mentally mature. By 21, the brain is usually smarter than an 18 year old on what not to do but, their is the is the case that the 24.9% teenagers that do get drunk somehow, can cause multiple accidents. These include 181446 teens that get a alcoholic liver disease. Another 29001 deaths happened without an

Some are watching movies on the Internet while others at home and still others are sneaking into theaters. The idea that a 18 year is an adult is somewhat sensible but 18 year olds are usually thinking that they can now do a lot more things then when they were a teenager.

These reasons are why a 21-year-old should considered an adult. A 21 year old has all the main rights and they are mature in both ways. When people are physically mature and mentally mature they are, usually ready for the life a stereotypical man would

Under the Young Offenders Act, the maximum age at which a youth could be prosecuted as a juvenile varied from province to province, and between genders in certain cases (Alberta set the maximum age at sixteen for boys, and eighteen for girls). By contrast, the Young Offenders Act legislated a uniform maximum age of seventeen across Canada. The Young Offenders Act applied to all youth who committed a crime before their eighteenth birthday.…

Juveniles are not adults, and saying so doesn't make it so. Besides, we don't really mean it: When we try them in criminal court, we don't deem them adults for other purposes, such as voting and drinking. We know they're still minors — they're developmentally less mature and responsible and more impulsive, erratic and vulnerable to negative peer pressure.…

It is not the age, it is the intent. “Current Events" expresses that, “In some states, they are considered adults: in other states, they are tried as juveniles”, which proves the large controversy on the subject of juveniles being tried as adults within the United States (“Locked up: should teens be tried as adults?”). The judicial system has the choice of their fate, yet some adolescence who commit crimes are not treated fairly under the law due to their age. Adolescence who commit murder, and other violent crimes within the United States, should be tried on equal grounds as adults, because regardless of age they should be prosecuted according to their actions.…

For many years, there has been the question should the drinking age be lowered to 18? In today's society, most young adults drink behind their guardians back, but do not realize the consequences that come with their choices. With much speculation, this topic has became a very intriguing argument. What does drinking do to the growth of the brain? Can alcohol do just as much harm to someone 18 then someone 21? Will they be just as responsible? Can someone that young make the correct decisions?…

In Kentucky, and in many other states as well, after the age of 18 you are considered an adult. This is the level of majority. If someone were to commit a crime at this age or older they would be tried as an adult. Children under the age of 18 cannot be sentenced to death or to life without possibility of parole. This is because children are physically incapable of making mature, responsible, well processed decisions. Opinions from one person to the next differ as there are several reasons concerning juveniles how they should be treated and tried in criminal cases (Southerland). The issue may be more of a debate as some people would say that kids do not have enough reasoning and lack common sense. Others, on the other hand, would say that juveniles have plenty of brains and common sense. There are strong reasons as to why juveniles should not be tried as adults and should not be eligible for life without parole.…

    Age of Responsibility

To begin with, the age of responsibility is defined by a persons decision making. Poor decisions at times lead teenagers to more dangerous/complicated situations. Also, poor decision making such as having unprotected sex lead to pregnancy and which later lead to teen abortions. Although abortion is legal in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, some countries requires parental consent or intervention by a judge (“Teen Abortion Statistics”). Study shows that college students drinking decisions contribute to 17,000 deaths, 599,000 injuries, and 97,000 cases of sexual assaults (“Choose Responsibility”). Teens law breaking rates and binge drinking show teenagers underestimation of dangerous situations that can cause a terrible chain reaction. More than 5 million children living today will die prematurely because of a decision they will make as adolescents (“Statistics on Teens”). Although most teenagers prefer making decisions alone, their decisions are fragmented and with little knowledge. Therefore, in the final analysis, 21 year olds are more capable of committing rational decisions.…

    Becoming an Adult

People never seem to quite understand the meaning of being an “adult”. I myself am not very sure of the full meaning of it. It has always seemed to me that age is irrelevant. You can be 12 and understand things better than a 30-year-old or you can be 40, have two PhD’s and still wonder if pigeons are migratory birds. Many people my age think that getting out of their parents’ house is an act of maturity but how does changing your situation prove that you are an “adult”? If they run away from home it is more likely to lose themselves trying to cope alone and underprepared with the difficulties in life. To become an adult you must achieve a separate identity. Still everyone perceives the world and every thought in it through their own consciousness.…
